Brintellix...high Blood Pressure

I was prescribed this for anxiety and it is working very well for me. I have been through several drugs and for the first time I felt hopeful. I went to denist and found out this medication is sending my blood pressure through the roof. No issues with blood pressure prior to this. This was the only change. I'm really scared to get off it. Is there anything that I can do?

Are you sure it's due to this medication?

Elevated blood pressure is not a listed side effect among FDA or user reports.

They typically include symptoms, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes.

It is always possible to develop high blood pressure, without being aware of it and there isn't always an direct cause to attribute it to. Does anyone else in your family have it?

You may need to see your regular doctor for an evaluation.

Im a nurse, I check my blood pressure all the time at work. This was the only change. Its DEFINITELY a side effect.

I am experiencing the same thing. Took my blood pressure for the first time in a few months and was shocked.

@Hopeful - how long had you been taking Brintellix? I've been on it for a long time and don't think bp was a side effect at first. But now it seems to be.. The same thing happened years ago when I was on Effexor, but that med had been on the market for a while and hypertension was a known side effect for longer term users. Hypertension isn't listed for Brintellix, but that may only be because they don't know. It's possible hypertension is rare in people who just started it and didn't meet stat significance to be considered a side effect.

I got off and just recently tried it again with the same results. High blood pressure. So I quit again. I give up on mesa and decided to go the natural way. I take kava and rhodiola, and drink camomile tea throughout the day. So far the herbs are working.

Yes since I've been taking trintellix my blood pressure is way high. And dizzy big time. I've been to doctors and they prescribe more mess. Don't know. Please help
