Bleeding While On Contraceptives

I'm 39 yrs old, taking nur isterate from July this year until now. My problem is that I'm on my period and it's been 3days now and I'm worried if this is a sign of a vaginal infection or if it's a sign of cancer? Pls help, cause the blood is thick and smelly.

Using contraceptive doesn't stop you from having a period. Some women don't, some women skip a period here and there and some people never experience a change in their cycle.

However, having an odor to it is not normal and is something you should have checked out, since that may be the sign of an infection.

The FDA lists the other typical side effects of this contraceptive as possibly including headache, dizziness, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms.
