Bactrim Ds 800 160 Side Effects (Top voted first)

I had strep throat, therefore the docter proscribed me the bactrim ds 800 - 160 , he said take 2 a day , for 10 days and I had to finish them. Today is the 5th day , but since I've been taking them my strep throat went away, but then i get fevers everyday,bad headaches,and a my stomach doesn't feel normal,I don't want to eat. I haven't thrown up yet , neither have I had diahera. I just gag a lot. Is it from these pills I've been taking ?

This is a sulfa based antibiotic, so it can cause some pretty harsh side effects in some people that take it. However, what you're experiencing may also be due to a bad reaction starting, so you should contact your doctor immediately.

I was prescribed bactrim for an insect bite that went viral. Regular strength 2 pills twice a day. Only problem while taking it was severe constipation. But just as I finished my course (10 days) I started having itching on my hands, a sore throat and bouts of shaking. I am seven days out now and the only thing that has improved is the sore throat part. I saw my Dr. yesterday and was told that my symptoms were probably from the bactrim. I was also prescribed a new anti-biotic and filled the prescription. But when i read the drug monograph it was so bad (it had a "black box" warning) I haven't started it. So now I'm torn between feeling rotten from yet another anti-biotic and getting a severe infection.
Sadly I also have to report that I've used bactrim many times before this with no ill effects??? So that adds another dimension to why I had a bad reaction this time.

I was prescribedsulfamethoxazole.-tmp tablets two a day for ten days. I had horrible side effects. The worst was anxiety and shakes like I was jumping out of my skin. I was through with the dosage on the tenth day. How long will I feel bad?
