Bactrim Ds 800 160 - Also Prescribed Pretisone For My Inflamed Glands. Can I Take

Hi. I was prescribed Bactrim DS 800/160 tablets 2x a day for 10days. I tested negative for mono, strep, and tonsillitis. I do have some boils/abscess and they also gave me ointment for the nose (mupirocin) and body wash (hibiclens). And also (prednisone) was prescribed for my glands swollen. I'm awaiting test results. But my sincere concern is can I take them both together? And I already take kolnopin got anxiety and on the side effects I seen a lot of people said they got nervous, the shakes, couldn't sleep, and other scary symptoms. I'm wondering what I could eat or do so the bactrim won't tear my stomach up? Any info would be greatly appreciate. I have flu/virus like symptoms as well it's like I'm sick with strep my ears are also bothering me but I tested negative for all that. Please any info can help me in anyway thank you.

They also prescribed the bactrim ds 800/160 incase I did have Mrsa. They couldn't culture the wound cause I ha already poked around and got most of the puss n junk out, that's the main reasoning for the bactrim sorry I didn't state that in the other question and/or message. I'm trying to find out if I can take the predisone and bactrim together and if so I dont want to get nauseous which I have before on Bactrim. Is their anything to prevent the nausea? I'm real nervous from all the threads I've read from but everybody is different. I already suffer from anxiety and would hate for more nervousness to occur. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Yes, I didn't find any interactions listed between these two medications, but you should always double check such information to be sure.

For preventing nausea, you may want to split them up, so you don't take them both at the same time and make sure not to take them on an empty stomach.

Side effects to the Prednisone may include nausea, dizziness, fluid retention and acne.

Side effects to the Bactrim may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
