Aurobindo Pharmacy A 13

Just got my Metformin 850 mg refilled and received Aurobindo Pharmacy round white pill with an A on one side and 13 on the other side. I take them in the evening at bedtime and in the morning my glucose is almost as high as it was in the evening! That is not normal for me as my reading in the morning should be way lower!

Hello, Arnie! How are you doing?

My first question is why are you taking it at night?

This medication usually needs to be taken during the day, just before a meal, that way it is in your body to work to lower your blood sugar after eating throughout the day.

If you're taking it at night, when you aren't eating anything and waking up with a high sugar level, it's most likely that your sugar is dropping too low, while you are sleeping, so your body is stating to burn ketones for fuel, to bring you out of the low sugar, which is actually a very dangerous thing to do to yourself.

If you've been taking them this way for awhile now, it's probably not the fault of getting a pill from a different manufacturer, but rather just the reaction of your body over time from your glucose dropping that low at night.

Have you consulted your doctor? I think you should, in order to get a better grasp on how to properly manage your diabetes.
