I have a severe allergic reaction to aspirin (large hives and feinting). I have arthritis in both of my hands. My doctor gave me Tramadol which is only helping some. Is there at least one antiinflamatory I can take where it won't cross react with my allergy. My allergy to aspirin is as severe as someone allergic to penicillin.

Hi Sharon,
A few other options I would consider, are: Ibuprofen/Motrin/Advil, Diclofenac, or even a natural alternative such as Turmeric (Curcumin); which contains more than two dozen anti-inflammatory compounds.
According to an article on NaturalNews.com, "Curcumin is proven to be even better for relieving arthritis pains and stiffness than expensive pharmaceuticals, without any side effects. It has also been proven to protect the liver and gallbladder." - A side effect that steers many patients away from pharmaceutical medications like Acetaminophen.
Perhaps this is something you may want to do additional research on before making a definite decision. But I think you'll find that it's clearly a viable option.
