Apo Tr 50

very small and white oval shaped solid not a capsule...APO on one side and TR 50 on the other scored down the center between letters on numbers. please help me identify this pill I found it laying on my kids floor! should I be worried he is leading down the wrong path?

Yes. He might be abusing drugs. The pill that you found is a 50mg Tramadol pill. A pain killer that is compared to vicotin, hydrocodone, etc... These pain killers could be equivalent to taking heroin, which could lead to serious injury or death. I would recomend you research the drug and then confront you son about the dangers of this drug.

This is a generic Tramadol by Apox, probably purchased from a foreign pharmacy online. These painkillers have very little recreational value. They are a synthetic made not to fit opoid receptors and produce a very weak high at best. They've been known to cause anxiety and sleeplessness and can cause addiction. More than 400 milligrams a day can cause seizures, making abuse by taking increased dosages very dangerous. A very, very poor choice for a recreational drug.

That is not true. it is a very very mild pain killer with very little risk of addiction. There ARE some risk of addiction though it is a low grade opiate

What I put in my post IS true. They were not supposed to be addictive and doctors handed them out like candy. Turns out they're pretty addictive even physically. People who take it for a couple weeks or more and try to stop often have horrible bone pain and other physical withdrawal symptoms, up to and including seizures. Many say it's harder to get off of than other supposedly more addictive pain pills. Do some research on the web... Google Tramadol addiction or Tramadol withdrawal.

Tramadol doesn't have the same effect on everyone. But, some people can get reasonably high on a double dose. It can act as an anti-depressant mood lifter, a pretty good pain killer at a slightly higher than recommended dose and it can also act as a speedy feeling stimulant. The effects can last a long time without fading (6-8 hours).

What mainly makes it a really bad and dangerous choice as a recreational drug (besides being physically addictive which wasn't even really my main point) is simply that it becomes very dangerous at just slightly higher doses than it takes to feel the effects. As people build up a tolerance and try to take a little more, they are likely to have a seizure. If you do some research on people addicted to Tramadol, you'll find many of them have had seizures.

i had tramodol 50mg. prescribed for my back, i just took a half of one and it made me sleepy...i know this girl she is addicted to them and takes like 4 or 5 at a time i dont see how she does it...

First of all, this drug is noting close to heroin, assuming it came from online is just a guess, Most of the time teens get these drugs from family members, by stealing them, then distributing them to others for profit. Abusing this drug is a serious matter as it is dangerous like the other posts say.

I bought some exact pills on line for tooth pain. It is called Tramadol. I can understand why doctors discourage use with patients having history of addiction. I definitely feel a lift in my mood for a few hours. Of course like any medication it should be taken as prescribed.
