Anxiety And Depression

I just got out of Dover Behavior health for a nervous meltdown I was prescribed Paxil & xanax what scares me is the other medications I'm on which are percocet 10mg no Tylenol & oxycontin 40mg. I went today to pain management and they had received my record's for Dover. I told my Dr my fears and she said that my fears were just my anxiety and I had no need for worrying. I just think that's a lot of medications. am I just over reacting or are my fears valid? I need somebody to tell me what they think. {edited for privacy}

Hello, Susan! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the hospitalization.

However, your doctor is correct, as long as they aren't causing you any bad symptoms, then there is no reason to worry. Many people take far more medications in a day than 4 and much of it depends on you and how your body reacts to them.

Have you had any problems, while taking them? Such as severe drowsiness? Trouble breathing? Feeling extremely dizzy?

The FDA classifies Xanax as a benzodiazepine, it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.. The Oxycodone and Oxycontin are narcotic analgesics, so they also carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Prozac is an SSRI antidepressant and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, weight loss and dry mouth.
