Amox Tr K Clv 875 125 Mg Tab Dosage For Strep Throat

I am currently diagnosed with Strep infection and my doctor prescribed me a week course of amox tr k clv 875 125 mg tab twice a day. Its been my third day of consuming this antibiotic, but i still cant see much relief to my sore throat
I still have troubles while swallowing in water or food. More over my appetite has reduced drastically

Can you please advise me for the following:
a) How many days does an antibiotic needs to reduce swelling in throat?
b) Is 125 mg tab effective or I should talk to my doctor to increase dosage?
c) IS there a possibility that I may need to switch on a different antibiotic?

From what I've come to understand based on a number of antibiotics I used in the past, is that it may take near the full course of treatment before the antibiotic can build up in your system enough to have a more drastic effect on the infection; especially if it's a more serious case.

However it is also important to realize that antibiotics do not exhibit anti-inflammatory effects; they merely fight the infection that's causing the inflammation/pain. For the swelling to go down quicker, you may have luck eating some raw honey several times daily. Raw manuka honey actually has tremendous healing benefits (including the fact that it's antibacterial as well as anti-inflammatory), but can cost a pretty penny depending on where you get it from.

I posted this query on third day starting my antibiotic course and I must say things started to improve at the end o third day! so your posint is very valid as it it takes full course of treatment for antibiotics to get some significant results
