What is the difference in the Ichthammol you buy from the vet and the Ichthammol you buy from the drug store?

Hello, Monk! How are you?

Most likely there isn't any difference. Many of them are exactly the same and even made by the same manufacturers.

That's why you can take veterinary prescriptions to your regular pharmacy to have them filled.

You just shouldn't take anything limited to just veterinary use, or give your dog anything that's not intended to be used in canines.

This one is usually used topically, so the most common side effects, in both canines and people, may include skin redness, irritation, dryness and rash, as listed by the FDA.

Is there anything else I can help with?
