What is difference between these two medicines, pl specify their respective use.

Amlong AT contains the active ingredients Amlodipine and Atenolol, so it combines a calcium channel blocker with a beta blocker, this combination is most commonly used to help treat high blood pressure, but is also sometimes used for certain cardiac conditions.

Amlong MT contains Amlodipine and Metoprolol, so it just has a different beta blocker in it, but it's used to treat the same types of conditions.

It's really just that the same medications don't always work for everyone, so there are generally several combinations available to provide other treatment options.

Side effects for both may include nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension.

Hi, I was taking AMLONG MT50 (Extended Release) (Ingredients: Amlodipine-5mg; Metaprolol succinate - 47.5mg; Metaprolol Tartrate - 50mg) tablet once a day. Unfortunately, I am not getting AMLONG MT50 now and my GP prescribes Amlodipine 5 mg tablet and Metoprolol Tartrate 50 mg tablets separately. Is it okay to have these tablets separately instead of the combined extended release tablet? Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
