Amlodipine Question
UpdatedI take amlodipine for high pressure in my esophagus. They said I needed a calcium channel blocker. I haven't even been on this med for a month and my BP has gone up since taking it. Would it hurt to stop it?

Hello, Dee! How are you?
Yes, it could be dangerous to stop abruptly, as reported by the FDA, a sudden withdrawal could cause rebound symptoms that may include dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate. Thus, it would be best to see your doctor first, as they should be able to prescribe an alternative medication.
How high is your blood pressure? Are you on any other medications?
