Amlodipine And Grapefruit Seed Extract

My wife is thinking of using a menopause cream containing grapefruit seed extract. She also takes amlodipine 5mg. There appears to be a potential risk with grapefruit products taken orally, but would this also apply to applying a 1/8th teaspoon of cream containing grapefruit seed extract?

Hello, Andy! How are you and your wife?

Not that I'm aware of, but it is always best to double check such information. However, generally, a person doesn't absorb enough of a topical cream to cause problems.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Amlodipine as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.
