Amlodipine And Atenolol - Can I Take Them Together (Top voted first)

I feel my heart beating irregularly and I was taking them before but my doc said to stop. Why, I don't know? I went to 'a and e' and the doc said I had a slight heart murmur.

I have been taking this drug combination of amlodipine + atenolol for the last two years but now my feet are swelling. Is this common? Is this a side effect?

Hello Jackie,

According to the National Institute of Health there are known interactions between amlodipine and atenolol. One of the interactions is to experience headache, dizziness, feeling lightheaded, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart beat. They continue to say that this is more common when starting to take the medications together or when you receive an increase in dosages. They warn to contact your doctor if these symptoms persist longer than a few days.
