Amitriptyline (10 mg) is used in the United States and United Kingdom to prevent migraines only in very small doses. It is also used as sleeping aids in small doses of usually 25 mg, and for diabetic retinopathy.

My doctor would like to prescribe me this for my migraines...10mg, however, I am very leary of filling the prescription due to suicidal thoughts as the #1 side affect. Your thoughts?
