Tryptophan or L-Tryptophan is not an actual medication, it is a natural substance that is present in many foods and is sometimes processed and sold as a supplement, because it can cause drowsiness and induce sleep.

Thus, it can be found in most drug or vitamin stores.

It's very commonly found in many starchy foods, such as potatoes, which is why people eat a huge holiday dinner and then feel drowsy afterwards.
