omeprazole a ppi for GERD ; hyper-acidity ; esophageal reflux ; gastric ulcer reduces the amount of protons your gastric lining pumps out so increases the pH - reducing the acidity

I had pain in the chest,thot it was associated wth heart since it worsened when i was emotionally stressed but doctor said its GERD,so yeah i had chest pains also n gave me Altosec amng other anti acids

I am on a one month course of Altosec - prescribed by my general practitioner - for gastritis (an inflamed stomach). Previously it has been prescribed to me for acid reflux which often causes heartburn as a side effect, so people suffering from frequent heartburn may also use it (as I see some people have posted.)

Best results 30min before food. It works by preventing acid buildup.
