Unfortunately, all of the current bipolar medications available are known to cause weight gain, due to the nature of the way they work in the body. They can also cause dizziness, somnolence and dry mouth. You've usually just got to make sure to get lots of exercise and eat healthy to try to minimize it.

What condition is being treated? Depending on your condition, there may be other options, but I can't say, without knowing this detail. Thank you!
