Alternative Drugs For Suboxone

After finding that Suboxone would be detrimental to my health and I am trying to detox methadone, are there other alternatives?

I am 72. I've used 35 years. Have been on Methadon since 1999 and am now at 20 mgs. After making an appointment for Suboxone I see that I am not a good candidate because of health issues. I'm asking if anyone knows of any alternatives other than suboxne type substances?

Hello, Boogie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having.

It depends on what type of health issues are causing the problem. Some people that can't take Suboxone are able to Subutex, which is Buprenorphine, without the Naloxone.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
