Do you still get same amount of alprazolam?Which one is best for anxiety or panic attacks?

They are both effective, the only difference is that the XR is a time released tablet, so the medication is released slowly into the body for a certain period of time and with the regular release, it is all released into your body at once.

Yes I was prescribed the alprazolam 2mg xr.I'd rather have the 2mg without any time release.
