If your doctor approves, both Benadryl and Allegra can be taken by someone with a heart condition or high blood pressure. I had congestive heart failure 5 years ago and my cardiologist has approved both of them.
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth.
