What is it used for and how safe is it? And what other medicine should you not use with it?

Hi all,

I have recently been experiencing severe (and smelly) flatulence, extreme bloating & discomfort. I've been to the doctor a number of times who hasn't prescribed me anything, but I have heard of the use of charcoal tablets/capsules.

Does charcoal help reduce and relieve flatulence?
