Pocket, I have the exact same problem. As far as strength I don't feel a 5.7 is equal to a 8mg sub..

Did you know company's that make generics are allowed to only put 80% of the active ingredient in their product? Look it up

I hope your problems have worked out. Only people with this disease do understand one another. We are not all at the same place either. I have never understood that about TN. I hope you are still holding on.

Zubsolv gives you really bad case of dry mouth after a month taking them so to me it seems like sometimes it might take about 10 minutes to dissolve but other then that they work wonderful...

Can you please share that info? Like what coupon and what insurance you have? I have run into many dead ends when it comes to insurance covering anything for addiction. Thanks so much. Also are you on Zubsolv?

Troph, they both have the same ingredients so take the suboxone at the time you'd normally would take your zubsolv. There should be no need to change your times.

I have been on 5.7 Zubsolv twice a day for 3 weeks now. After 1 year of being dependant on Opiates for my chronic pain, 2 weeks after my surgery my doctor changed me over to this medication. I am very pleased with this medication it works so well for me. It was the only opiate blocker my insurance covered. The doses go down to a very low mg so I am looking forward to stopping completely under supervision of my doc .Now for someone that lives with chronic pain daily it would definitely take a much higher dose in order for it to be successful to relieve pain in my opinion.

THANK YOU!!! pretty much everything you said!! there are some on here (verwon) who would INSIST that as long as the naloxone is not in there, you can take it back to back with opiates.....WRONG!! i am living proof that just plain subutex (bupe WITHOUT naloxone) with throw you into HORRIBLE precipitated withdrawals. i took subutex too soon after opiates and was in AGONY!! its the bupe, NOT THE NALOXONE, that is the problem! and yes, the naloxone is only in there to stop people from IV'ing straight subutex. and yes, administering subutex intravenously, if you are an addict, doesn't do a dang thing! im not sure who you are responding to (possibly verwon?) but i was glad to see your comment, it is spot-on. anyone who decides that subutex is ok to take soon after full agonist opiates is going to regret it, big time!

Unfortunately the books call it "percepitated withdrawl".. I would call it the absolute worst feeling in the entire world for hours and hours on end. I was a HEAVY addict at the time and ran out and was broke.. Was told by a friend that subutex won't make you sick.. ( I will never forget this as long as I live)... So I spent the day smoking about 400-500mcg of gel then about 4 hours later the WD set in so I took a subutex. In about 2 hours I wanted to literally die. I was told to take more and it will help so I took 3 more... Mistake... After sitting on the toilet while vomiting in the sink for about 3 hours I paced my house for 27 hours straight.. Xanax, Valium, kpins, nothing helped. I laid down for about 10 seconds before the RLS got so bad is start walking again. Same routine over and over for 27 hours. Literally.. Once I finally passed out I was unable to leave the couch for 3 days. So from a 15 month clean recovering addict I'd say NEVER take anything with bupe and or narcan in it untill your a few hours into full blown opiate withdrawals. Not just the "I don't feel good" withdrawals... I'm getting sick now just thinking of that week.. Yet after all said and done I went right back to opiates... Now 15 months clean. Nothing but strips for me!!!

Shelly,
Yes I was on Zub for a few months and it was HELL. And someone like you who takes a 1/4 how are u going to split up a tiny pill into exact quarters? They are a hell of a lot weaker. I felt W/D symptoms within 3 days of me going on Zub.. Thank god now back to Suboxone. I'm a SEVERE chronic pain sufferer and after all the years of legal oxys, opana's, fentanyl, roxys, then dope it's a hell of a lot better than all that BS!!

i was on subs in the near past and since december 10th of last year ive been going to a methadone/zubsolv clinic. i am taking two 5.7 zubsolv pills, this stuff in my opinion is no way as strong as suboxone. so i definetly agree with you, which is why im back on waiting list for sub doctor.zubsolv in my opinion isnt even close!

ASA: besides methadone, suboxone and zubsolv, there really isnt any other ORT out there. i dont know what to tell you on that one. i DO know that 180mgs of methadone is quite high, higher than the average dose for ORT. now are you saying that even THAT dose isnt doing it for you? i was going to suggest you try going down on your dose, maybe 5mgs at a time, once a month or so, but i dont know if this is practical for you if that high dose isnt even "holding" you. remember; the methadone clinics are a business, first and foremost. they WANT you to be on 180mgs because they know they probably have a customer for life. btw, when i went from methadone to suboxone, my doctor never said i needed to be down to 30mgs of methadone before i could switch. i was on....if i am remembering correctly....70 or 75mgs when i switched over. so i dont know why these doctors are saying this about having to go down to 30mgs. i just had to make sure all that methadone was out of me, so i didnt go into precipitated withdrawal. so i had to wait more than 48 hours to switch over, had to be in full-on withdrawal. but i was in no way down to 30mgs. i wish i could be of more help to you.

I don't want to go taper down I switched to zubsolv when my insurance made me and ever since I hate them. They don't last nearly as long and my doctor cut me to 45 a month on the subs before I switched so when I switched he kept me there and I was running out before it was time to get another refill I used to be able to take a sub at 3-4pm and be fine till I woke up 12 hrs later. Not with the zubsolv I was waking up at 12-1 am with the restless leg feeling and I knew something wasn't right so I told him and he went back up to 60 and that was a year ago but it still doesn't last as long I'm always waking up taking little pieces to sleep and I never did that with subs the good thing is my company I work for switched insurance this year and they cover subs so when I go to my appoin Monday I'm switching but on the other issue I feel like 60 a month is perfect and I feel from past visits he want me to taper down and I don't want to i feel my life is great and I'm very productive and have money now and I don't want to screw it up but I'm scared my doctor will make me go down and I will have to switch which I don't want to because my doctor gives me two refills and I see he every 3 months that saves me a LOT of money that way so I don't know what I'm going to do but just have to talk to him and tell him how I feel.

i just got home from the docters this morning and was prescribed zubsolv .......ive heard of subutex and suboxone but never zubsolv and had no idea that they actually go higher than 8 mg. i thought 8 mg was the highest that they made buprenorphine but i gues i was wrong because the doc gave me 8.6 mg zubsolv and they work very well for me.. And i actually like them more than i like subutex or suboxone believe it or not

Orexo's claim that 5.7 mg of Zubsolv is equivalent to 8 mg of Suboxone is BLATANTLY MISLEADING. The data that they use to support this claim is comparing the Zubsolv tablets to the Suboxone tablets, NOT the films, and studies that have compared the efficacy of the Suboxone films vs Suboxone tablets show that the bioavailability of buprenorphine from the films is significantly greater than from the sublingual tablets, in the range of 16-28%. So despite what Orexo claims most people switching from Suboxone films to Zubsolv tablets will need to adjust their dosage.

I have the same issue as you with the zubsolv. I am going through getting appealed as we speak. The doctor can choose to get you back on suboxone. Zubsolv makes me sick and doesn't help with my pain. That is something you have to talk to your doctor about. Not sure of my outcome yet. But it's worth a try.
