I just recently (last week) was prescribed Zubsolv 5.7/1.4mg due to my insurance stopping coverage of suboxone. I have been on Suboxone 8mg/2mg for the past 4 years. My first dose of Zubsolv was 2 days ago. A few hours afterwards I began to feel sick. I felt very confused , tired and headache. I felt as if I was in withdraw with a combo of being overmedicated. I had to switch back to Suboxone for now as I have a wedding coming up and refuse to feel sick. I dont know if it's just me or what but I don't understand why I felt that way after taking Zubsolv. I tried it twice more thinking maybe it was a coincidence but the same thing happened again. Not sure what I'm going to do come July 1st when my insurance stops paying for Suboxone. Anyone else have this experience with Zubsolv???

Zubsolv works just as good as the other. I had to switch because of my insurance and so far I can't tell the difference. If you don't have a script go to a doc that specializes in this type of addiction and they will give you one that day no waiting.

I switched from 2 Suboxone film 8/2 a day and am now on 2 Zubsolv a day and it's been 9 days and I'm literally dying of exhaustion. I almost passed out at work yesterday and had to take off work today to sleep the entire day. They looked at me like I was on drugs at work and I was so embarrassed. I was on Suboxone film for 3 years and it saved my life. My relationship with my family and career have done a 360 and all of the sudden they switch me to a new med and my world is crashing down around me. If things don't turn around, I am very afraid I will make bad choices again. For the past 3 years I woke up every day and knew 100% that I wouldn't use that day. I barely drag myself out of bed today and am uncertain if I'll make it through sober.

Wow, I'm really surprised at some of these comments, if you think that the new Zubsolv is not right, well that's because the dosage is NOT the same as Suboxone. You need to speak with your Doctors, seriously, this is such a new drug that most doctors are not taking the time to figure out the equal parts. Zubsolv is less with both the 5.7 and the 1.4 then the Suboxone. Some people think they need the full amount of Suboxone when really they do not. It's stronger than most people think. So in conclusion, I had to switch because of insurance issues, but glad I did. I've scaled down on dosage, it takes better and much cheaper. The main thing, please, make your Doctor go over this dosage thing, and figure out how much YOU NEED to be whole again. It seems that most that have switched are doing fine with this medication. You can still stay on the Suboxone, but you'll pay dearly for it, that should stop after the makers of Suboxone receive this slap in the face from insurers.

7yrs, huh...and we need to "get our addict brain back to normal"? That's just a tad offensive, as some react different to meds than others! I didn't mind the zubsolv, but it still wasn't the same as suboxone! My problem was that insurance wouldn't cover my whole script, but on everyone's behalf I find your personal comment not only judgemental and offensive, but straight up ignorant! As someone who has been on colonazipam, there's one generic out of however many that I have an allergic reaction to. Nobody knows what is in the stuff we take. Every version has a different composition of chemicals and everyone can react differently. Glad it works for you though. Best regards, but don't start knocking what people say, especially addicts, thinking you're a better addict than everyone else...? Really? Peace!

I agree I've been on suboxone for 6 months without a problem and I switched to zub-s*** cause insurance wouldn't pay for the subs anymore. Everyone says the dose is the same and I'm saying bulls***. I've already ran out and I still have a week till my appointment. I have extra everytime with subs..

I agree with both of you guys, and especially for the well being of our lives! I really don't think, well I am almost certain that these people have no idea what it's like to struggle, finally have a decent quality of life, then have a wrench thrown in it! I had my Dr office submit the 2nd tier appeal for the zubsolv , but haven't heard anything for nearly a month now! He just wrote me subutex last time I went, it's a little more money, but sure worth the payoff! Now my dilemma is I've been cut off from comp pay as I've reached my maximum medical improvement, have no money coming in, and I have been freaking out as to what I'm going to do! It's bad enough dealing with my own problems, but I've got two little ones to worry about also and this is killing me, literally!! I apologise for venting, but workers comp is not a fair system by any means! I have no idea how to go about getting any other type of ins, as I've always worked! If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Thanks. I hope things work out for you guys, and the payoffs to the ins companies stop messing with people who are really trying to do the right thing and live a good life! God bless all!

Zubsolv sucks. Do not switch from suboxone. Major differences. Makes me angry big time

The problem is the insurance companies are forcing the switch to zubsolv, and when you pay top dollar for ins., we shouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars a month for medication! It's ridiculous, but hopefully they'll realize that this is not in our heads, and it's not what it's claimed to be! Until they do, I'll drop my ins., and pay for generic sebutex! It's just not right for the people who are trying to do right in their lives!

I took prescription opiates for 10 years and had enough of the nightmare and so I used Suboxone to save my life. My first problem is that recovery is such a delicate situation. Why are insurance companies allowed to mess with people's lives by telling us what is better for our recovery? It's truly an example of complete ignorance.

Now I know Zubsolv does not operate within my body the same way that Suboxone does. What I'm wondering is about the bioavailability. Per the definition, it should be the amount of the medication that arrives intact to my system. I want to know the exact amount of time that is based on. So if Zubsolv dissolves better but disappears quicker could that be causing the difference in effectiveness? Something is different...and quite frankly I don't think others pretending they can analyze with certainty that it is a mental issue helps in any way. I'd like to see more in depth analysis. Just not at my expense......

FDA approves two higher dosage strengths of Orexo's ZUBSOLV

The new dosage strengths are 8.6 mg/2.1 mg and 11.4 mg/2.9 mg buprenorphine/naloxone CIII sublingual tablets. The 8.6 mg/2.1 mg dosage strength is expected to be launched early 2015 and the 11.4 mg/2.9 mg strength later in 2015.

The new dosage strengths complement the existing strengths of 5.7 mg/1.4 mg and 1.4 mg/0.36 mg tablets and enable patients to receive their optimal dose in one tablet.

The new strengths are made with the advanced, proprietary sublingual tablet formulation in ZUBSOLV providing higher bioavailability, a fast dissolve time, small tablet size, and menthol flavor

There should be a zubsolv savings card for up to $225 off so it makes my script of 90 free each month. Ask your dr for it or print the card online.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. I don't understand why people make things up. If you are addicted to full agonist opiates and take either subutex or suboxone or zubsolv or any buprenorphine containing medication you will be put into withdrawal. Buprenorphine has such a high binding affinity that it strips all the agonist opiates and causes withdrawal. The pharmacology of naloxone orally or sublingual basically makes it ineffective and unable to have any real big effect. It may do something but it is minimal. It's there to prevent iv use which from what I read doesn't even work very well. You must not have been addicted to full agonist when you did your evaluation, either that or you waited long enough for the buprenorphine to work correctly and not put you into withdrawal. Look it up. This is documented stuff.

I've been on Zubsolve for about a year... After taking subs and subutext. Zubsolv won't feel as strong- it's not. It's different. You will feel a little withdrawl, for a week or so. But zubs are a lot cleaner. They taste 10000xs better and you feel more awake and more clear. All in all worth the switch. Way better. I've also had my husband try them ( he is on subs) and he liked them. Better. It's just way more clean, and you have a ton more energy. And you wait for 5 min for them to dissolve and taste Sooo much better. It's a way better drug but people that do subs for the high will hate them. Anyone else? Will love them better.

My doctor, who is the leading addiction specialist in my state, says that Zubsolv is absolutely NOT the same, and it is most definitely proving to be less effective. So he suggest that you all tell your doctors this. Tell them point blank that it is NOT working, that you need to be on more, and that you are afraid you are going to relapse with it.

THIS IS NOT IN YOUR HEADS!!! THIS IS REAL! It is less effective than Suboxone. It just IS.

Hi, i put a question on here, but no answer yet so thought i'd ask your opinion. I just went to sub doctor for first time yesterday. I have never taken any brand before. My doctor gave me Zubsolv for induction to do at home because my insurance wouldn't cover suboxone due to me being positive for opiates (DUH). I thought since i'm going for help, the fisrt UA could be positive, or i would have to go through WD for 3+ days versus 24 hrs of hell. So he talked to me 5 minutes, asked how many pills i take a day (20 norco 10/325) and told me to take 2 of the zubsolv a day. Well, they do work great, great taste, fast dissolve time , actually they make me feel great completely normal ,no high, but can laugh for first time in years ect. Helps pretty good with pain and WD and cravings, BUT after 6 hrs my cravings become pretty intense, obsessing, and mild WD come back. However if i take one more that works great. So if i could take 1 5.7 three times a day. I am scared to call and ask if this is ok, would that be considered drug seeking behavior?? I never want to go back to the hell of my addiction, and feel great for the most part exept for what i described. From all the hours of research i have done, it appears i should be able to be comfortable with minimal cravings, which i am completely, for about 6 hours. I am brand new to this drug, and suboxone treatment. Could you please give me any advice?? I would really appreciate it. I want to be completely honest with my new doctor for once in my life, and do not want to start off on a bad note by taking 3 a day because i have to, and be scared to tell him. Thanks
