Zolpidem Generic (Page 8) (Top voted first)

ALL CVS pharmacies just changed the zolpidem from MYLAN manufacturer (out of PA) to TORRENT in India. Because generics can certain behave differently, I am nervous about taking the (10 mg) oblong peach Torrent brand one after reading some things online. I also don't like the idea of CVS using from out of the country manufacturer which HAS to be due to a better price because MYLAN brand is still very readily available. Any comments?

Silver script just denied ambien refill after 3 years of using as needed .05 mg to switch to rozerene which will cost me co pay of $129.00 from $1.50 per 30 pills. My rx store and I concluded that I could buy ambien myself for $15.00 per 30. Sounds like a scam with insurance, drug company and as ordered by medicare wonder how they figure into equation. Others over 60 must have same problem. What are you doing?

Try and get one of them to order you Qualtiest . it's cheap for them to do . So one store has to be willing or have your doctor right out must have name brand and get a pre-authorization from your insurance . Between my Pharmacy (walgreens) and my Doctor they got it done for me . Or there is one CVS that will special order any brand , Some will not at all . call around . Hope you get some better stuff to help you .

I have been on Ambien for over 10 years. I have had the real thing and about 4 different generics. I have had the same results from all of them. Its basically an 80% chance they will actually work. I have had the times that they made me hyper VS put me to sleep which was usually from the Qualitest. When this happens I usually supplement a benedryl or promethazine to help me sleep. Its a bad idea to lay there..i have found just getting up and doing something usually will make me drowsy enough to go to sleep after the benedryl. Good luck to all.

This information about big pharma sounds like a sci-fi movie, but I believe the sad truth is that we are losing the quality in everything. I am in Despair with the generic Ambien, same story as everyone's. Chris, I am interested in knowing if you've gotten resonse about the AG from Sanofi. I, too had good results from Qualitest as a generic up until two months ago when they decided to change it. Yeah, it's different. they got acquisitioned by ENDO I guess they decided to get on the same bus with the rest of them. What now??? The new Sleeper is works very differently, not on GABA, if anyone cares about how it works but any comments on Bellsomra?

Walgreens carries the teva round white. They do not work as well as the oval white and they can cause terrible headaches. Sleep only lasts me about 4 hours with the teva and thats 20mg. Publix grocery store on the east coast carries the better oval white generic. Use an Rx Savings Card for major discounts. Used to pay $80-$100 and now pay less than $10

Dissatisfied with generic Ambien from Good Neighbor Pharmacy, doesn't help me fall asleep, and when I do fall asleep I wake up after hours and cannot fall back asleep. This is the new lavender purple colored circular generic that Good Neighbor Pharmacy just started using 1 month ago. I'm thinking could it be a scam or a placebo. Fake pill pharmacies give to older age customers because they can get away with it!

Cvs in sanford still gives Mylan generic zolpidem, so it must be your pharmacy.

Have him write 2 of the 10mg. My doc has me on 20mg. Take two. 60 per month. Thata the highest legal dose before a psychiatrist has to write something larger.

I have been taking ambien 10mg for almost 10 yrs. I have tried almost every generic out there. I found the tevas are amazing....if you want to get chores done around the house. I cleaned my whole apartment and didn't even remember lifting a rag. Nice perk. Kinda scary. I switched from walgreens (home of Teva) to Target purely because of circumstance and started taking qualitest. What a difference! I lay down and with in 20 min I'm asleep. No dusting or "ambien texting". No clean and organized closets however, safe and well rested. My vote goes to qualitest (found at Target)

I completely agree about The Good Neighbor Pharmacy switch of their generic brand of Ambien. This circular, lavender color pill does not work AT ALL. I brought mine back to the pharmacy and they switched it to Qualitest which they have used for quite some time before they recently switched.

I tried that peach tablet and it did not work at all. was able to get the Teva brand and it works great. Now it is back ordered.

5 mg Qualitiest that CVS carried is on backorder. My local CVS has plenty of 10 MG Qualitest. My doctor changed the prescription to the 10mg version.

Torrant works fine for me but not as well as the Qualitest for quickness in falling asleep.

Generic meds must be within 20% of the name brand active ingredients. The fillers they use in generics vary. Some use gluten. With Zolpidem the fillers affect the effectiveness of the medication.

I also was switched to the lavender pill. Needless to say ..I'm still wide awake. I'm tired of them switching around. I'm gonna call my pharmacy tomorrow. This is BS.

I get my Ambien generic from CVS too and after them switching to Torrent I am not sleeping. They do absolutely nothing it seems... In fact the opposite effect seems to take place. I called around yesterday to different retail pharmacies and the only other choice I could find was Teva, which I am not reading good things about either. I called Dr. office yesterday and requested brand name only rx be called in so we'll see what insurance covers when I go and pick it up. If anyone finds a Mylan supplier please let us know!!
