Zolpidem Generic (Page 15)
UpdatedALL CVS pharmacies just changed the zolpidem from MYLAN manufacturer (out of PA) to TORRENT in India. Because generics can certain behave differently, I am nervous about taking the (10 mg) oblong peach Torrent brand one after reading some things online. I also don't like the idea of CVS using from out of the country manufacturer which HAS to be due to a better price because MYLAN brand is still very readily available. Any comments?
Re: Lily (# 276)
Sandoz 5mg does work to a small extent for me. My doc will not prescribe 10mg, but will give me 7.5mg. It doesn't always get the job done, but it's better then any other pharma brand.
Re: Jbeach413 (# 266)
Teva DOES NOT WORK AT ALL for me, neither does Mylan. I'm so disgusted that HMOs and Pharmas are jerking us around this way.
Re: Donna (# 273)
Oh, hell no! Trazadone makes me so messed up the next morning, I can barely do my job! If you have no job to get to the next morning, this drug is for you!
Re: Dave (# 280)
So, what generic manufacturers are best? I know our Qualitest is gone forever??any suggestions of best and worst?? Thank you.
Re: Wondering (# 284)
I find that each person thT posted on this board had different opinions about the generics. I have tried them all and find that Torrent 10 mg works best for me. It is still not as effective as Qualitest the least effective for me was Teva.
Just a shame that the brand is not covered by my insurance and the price is 240 for a 1 month supply vs. 5 bucks for Torrent. And yes I went through the Dr that wrote letters etc but to no avail.
Re: Charles of PA (# 285)
Thank you, I appreciate your response. I haven't tried Torrent yet, but I will.
Re: Lex (# 251)
Which one of the generic Ambien did you find to be "ok"? Thank you.
I am not happy at all with Walmart Pharmacy for refilling my Zolpidem prescription with a pill (E 79) from some company that manufactures them in India! This is the first time they've done this (at my store, anyway). I don't mind buying any other imported products, but my medication? I don't think so. No offense to any people from India, but I don't trust something made to go into my body and affect my brain being made by people making $1.00 a day or whatever. I have so many questions about product standards and regulations because here we have the FDA and there who knows? That's probably why drug manufacturing is less costly and discount stores like Walmart buy from them. Of course, this is just speculation on my part, but knowing how messed up the world of business is...
Re: Charles of PA (# 285)
Hi, I have been calling drugstores to find who carries Torrent trzodone. I found one that carries Torrent but there is also one that carries Qualitest, would you suggest I get the Qualitest? Thank you.
Re: Charles of PA (# 285)
Sorry, Charles. I got confused. I have been researching the best generic for Ambien and Trazodone. I will get the Torrent Ambien, but am still researching the best Trazodone. Have heard Sandoz so far, but maybe Qualitest would be good since their Ambien was. Anyway, excuse the ring, I guess I shouldn't research more than one med at a time???????
Re: Wondering (# 289)
Which one did you find that carries Qualitest? (I loved it, but Target switched and the one they use now doesn't work for me) Thanks
Re: Angie (# 291)
Sorry, I couldn't find Qualitest Ambien or Trazodone.
Teva zolpidem didn't work at all. Never had this problem w/ Mylan brand. Teva looks like a bootleg pill. Stopped taking because it was useless.
Re: Amy S (# 288)
Torrent, the peach ones I believe you ate talking about, actually work the best for me of the generics I have tried.
Re: Shelley (# 294)
I have tested every 10mg generic and found that the Torrent Brand works best ---- not anywhere as well as the Qualitest version which is no longer available, but Teva and Mylan were totally ineffective for me.
Zolpidem 10mg is not working. I'm up after a few hours and don't feel like I've taken anything. Waking up after a few hours is why I saw the doctor. Please advise.
Re: Pablo (# 296)
Is probably the manufacturer. Lots of zolpedim generics don't work. The drug is supposed to made to the same standards but FDA doesn't test them
Re: Marian888 (# 297)
FDA does test them BUT they just have to have the main ingredient and even that is very variable in some manufacturing processes. FDA standard can have a 25 to 59% variability
Generics do work for some drugs but apparently Ambien is a big disappointment
It is interesting that few politicians ever take the generic version of drugs as their health plans pay for brand
Even Donald’sDr released the drugs ( perhaps only some) and one was 20 mg brand Crestor and the other was 10 mg brand Ambien manufactured by Danofi
It is
Torrent doesn’t do anything to help me fall asleep. I have no effects from Torrent
I definitely agree. Since My pharmacy switched to the pink pill as a generic for Zolpidem, I have difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.
