ALL CVS pharmacies just changed the zolpidem from MYLAN manufacturer (out of PA) to TORRENT in India. Because generics can certain behave differently, I am nervous about taking the (10 mg) oblong peach Torrent brand one after reading some things online. I also don't like the idea of CVS using from out of the country manufacturer which HAS to be due to a better price because MYLAN brand is still very readily available. Any comments?

I have been taking ambien 10mg for almost 10 yrs. I have tried almost every generic out there. I found the tevas are amazing....if you want to get chores done around the house. I cleaned my whole apartment and didn't even remember lifting a rag. Nice perk. Kinda scary. I switched from walgreens (home of Teva) to Target purely because of circumstance and started taking qualitest. What a difference! I lay down and with in 20 min I'm asleep. No dusting or "ambien texting". No clean and organized closets however, safe and well rested. My vote goes to qualitest (found at Target)

I have taken the generic from Torrent and no way is it the same as my previous medication. CVS did not mention nor notify me that they had changed manufacturers. After 2+ weeks and not sleeping, I went to the pharmacy and was finally told after questioning the staff.

Have him write 2 of the 10mg. My doc has me on 20mg. Take two. 60 per month. Thata the highest legal dose before a psychiatrist has to write something larger.

Cvs in sanford still gives Mylan generic zolpidem, so it must be your pharmacy.

Dissatisfied with generic Ambien from Good Neighbor Pharmacy, doesn't help me fall asleep, and when I do fall asleep I wake up after hours and cannot fall back asleep. This is the new lavender purple colored circular generic that Good Neighbor Pharmacy just started using 1 month ago. I'm thinking could it be a scam or a placebo. Fake pill pharmacies give to older age customers because they can get away with it!

I cannot tell you which company makes it but it might be TEVA? You might wish to do a search via google for that. Zolpidem is the generic name of the medication in the US. I guess it sounds as if we all have a preference. I realise that the ones I received from India, that are high quality, seem a bit too strong to me. I read online that they might have a little too much of the potentially addictive ingredient. That would be a problem for me, but not for someone who does not take it every night as I do. Perhaps someone would like to make a change? Mine are sealed in a blister so they are not tampered with or handled at all by human hands.

Walgreens carries the teva round white. They do not work as well as the oval white and they can cause terrible headaches. Sleep only lasts me about 4 hours with the teva and thats 20mg. Publix grocery store on the east coast carries the better oval white generic. Use an Rx Savings Card for major discounts. Used to pay $80-$100 and now pay less than $10

This information about big pharma sounds like a sci-fi movie, but I believe the sad truth is that we are losing the quality in everything. I am in Despair with the generic Ambien, same story as everyone's. Chris, I am interested in knowing if you've gotten resonse about the AG from Sanofi. I, too had good results from Qualitest as a generic up until two months ago when they decided to change it. Yeah, it's different. they got acquisitioned by ENDO I guess they decided to get on the same bus with the rest of them. What now??? The new Sleeper is works very differently, not on GABA, if anyone cares about how it works but any comments on Bellsomra?

I have been on Ambien for over 10 years. I have had the real thing and about 4 different generics. I have had the same results from all of them. Its basically an 80% chance they will actually work. I have had the times that they made me hyper VS put me to sleep which was usually from the Qualitest. When this happens I usually supplement a benedryl or promethazine to help me sleep. Its a bad idea to lay there..i have found just getting up and doing something usually will make me drowsy enough to go to sleep after the benedryl. Good luck to all.

I've taken 7 of the small purple ambiens guess 10 mg not a bit tired haven't slept for day when will this stop? In 3 hrs I've taken then not drowsy a bit wtf wondering if these are weaker?

Patricia, you got a lot of incorrect statements in there so let me clarify. Mylan and Torrent are not the same parent company, they are completely different generics. If it says Torrent on the label, its Torrent not Mylan. Mylans look different. As far as the 12 mg you were asking for, that's not regular Ambien. That's Ambien CR, which is the extended release version. It would require a whole new prescription and doctor appointment.

The company mckesson out of duluth ga. gets there generic ambien out of mylan but manufactors name on it is torren does that make make sentce?is that good ?

I called rite aid they can get zolpidem tartrate from mgf mylan but its still torrent is the pharm.an the drug is coming out of duluth ga. they said once u transfer the zolpidem over to them they won't let u tranfer it no where eles its there's then because it is a controlled drug. Does that make sentce?
