Zolpidem 74 93 Some Look Different?

I have 10 generic Zolpidem white round pills with imprint 4 on one side, 93 on the other (from Walgreens). Sometimes they seem to work. Sometimes they don't. The pills are printed two different ways (as you turn them over): 74 face up/93 face down and 74 face up/93 face up. Does it matter or am I nuts?

Sorry! The above SHOULD HAVE read the imprint is 74 on one side, 93 on the other.

No, it the difference in the markings doesn't really mean anything, other than that some pills fell into the stamping machine in a different orientation.

That, however, does not mean that you may be crazy.

Generics are allowed, under federal law, to differ from their name brand counterparts by as much as plus or minus 20% in the active ingredient. If the manufacturer has poor quality control standards, which some companies have already gotten in trouble for with the FDA, you could end up with pills of varying strengths in the same batch.

Zolpidem, the active ingredient in Ambien is used for the short term treatment of insomnia.

I have a pill tht has teva on one side and 74 on the other! Is it the same as zolpidem????

For years I have taken Zolpidem and has always been 93 and 74. now I have a batch where it is Teva and 74. Every since it said Teva and 74 none of these pills work. I have always fell asleep very quickly with zolpidem 93 and 74 the day i started with the other I looked and found teva on one said and 74 on the other.i hate it

omplained to Walgreens about it and was told that Walgreens is a very big company and buys from reputable manufacturers. My doctor tried prescribing non-generic Ambien and the insurance company refused to pay for it.

My reaction to Zolpidem is dependent on the brand. Teva and Torrent work just fine - I had a horrible reaction to Mylan including sleepwalking, constant awakening during the night and constipation.
