Zenpep Patient Assistance Program

Has anyone been approved for Actavis Patient Assistance Program? I've been in the coverage gap (donut hole) since February. One months prescription is over $500 and I will need these enzymes for the rest of my life. If you were approved, How did you qualify. Do you have any insurance? I was denied because I'm on a Medicare Advantage program. I'm on SSDI and this expense is a true hardship. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried checking the price for it using a prescription program, such as GooxRx? You simply put in your email address, and print the card, It works even if you already have insurance, but can sometimes save you a good bit of money.
Regarding Actavis, their program is legit, I've used it myself, when I was uninsured, and had to take a medication they make that had no generic available at that time, I received 3 months worth of medications at a time for no charge, at all.
Your pharmacy may also be able to help you find the cheapest possible price.
Zenpep may cause side effects in some people that take it, according to FDA reports, these side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, gas, and constipation.

I had a total pancreatectomy in 2013. Now that I have Medicare and a Rx plan under contract with Medicare it is outrageous for the medicine. My monthly cost right now is $547 per month. My physician is trying to work with the insurance, but so far no luck. No one seems to care that without enzymes you can't digest your food and diabetes is my life now. The Pharmaceuticals should be held responsible for killing us.
Has anyone had trouble with the cost of their Zenpep prescription. It is also known as Pancrealipase, although there are no generic substitutes. It is mainly prescribed for Cystic Fibrosis and Chronic Pancreatitis. It is manufactured by Actavis Pharmaceuticals. I have prescription coverage through a Medicare Advantage Replacement Plan. It is very expensive and I went into the coverage gap in March. It costs over $500 for a one month supply. Activas has a Patient Assistance program, but I was denied because I have insurance. Has anyone been approved for the Activas Patient Assistance Program? My current insurance carrier will not cover this medication next year and is removing it from their Formulary. I have to pick a new insurance carrier for next year and the choice is critical due to the expense of this drug. I have had 80 percent of my pancreas removed. The diagnosis is Idiopathic Chronic Pancreatitus. I live on a fixed income and the cost if this medication is a true hardship. I'm looking for any suggestions. Thank You!!
