Xtandi And Other Treatments (Top voted first)

My husband has an aggressive form of prostate cancer. In 2 years have been through chemo, radiation, lupron, immunotherapy (provenge), zytiga and another one or two that I can't remember. Anyway, the doctor is now talking about xtandi and Radium 223, and perhaps a clinical trial using Taxotere using Ascorbic acid. Side effects from the Xtandi, Radium and Taxotere (which he did 2 yrs ago when diagnosed) are not very pleasant, especially if the results are only for 3-4 months, which is the average before his psa rises and scans show the cancer spreading. Anyone else have an aggressive form of prostate cancer and dealing with treatment that doesn't work for long?

Thanks for the input. My husband was only 59 when diagnosed. He has been taking medicinal marijuana for the nausea and pain. We meet with the oncologist Tuesday and diet is one of the biggie questions on our list.

I'm very sorry to hear about the condition your husband is in. My spouse's grandfather (age 80+) recently passed away from prostate cancer. From what I understand, it's one of the more aggressive forms of cancer. He tried every prescription the doctor recommended to no avail and it was still spreading.

So living in Colorado, multiple family members who were nearby suggested trying CBD/THC oil, in which numerous studies depicted powerful anti-cancer properties. They even brought him printouts of the .gov/.edu clinical data proving it - But because the mainstream doctor advised against it, he refused to give this miraculous plant a chance in lue of 'potential' drug interactions. We think the doctor didn't want him to be healed of cancer and just wanted his money for writing more prescriptions, as he simply medicated him to the point of only masking the pain until he passed away... It's very sad.

On another note, there are also numerous studies and patient reviews discussing how alkalinity (e.g. baking soda, a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, etc) kills cancer cells.

Regardless of whether your husband chooses to use mother nature or conventional treatment involving Xtandi, etc, I would just like to encourage him to keep an open mind to alternative forms of therapy...or to at least research them, that way he can say that he at least tried to win his life back for the sake of his loved ones.
