Xolair For Chronic Hives And Angeoadema

I've been on xolair for three weeks now. I don't have side effects yet but I'm still waiting for it to help me. I have severe GI angeoadema. I only have less than ten plain foods I'm able to eat. And I get hives all the time it's painful to eat and when I swallow, my face tingles. I get itchy after every meal and my hives get worse. I also get horrific hives on my period. I just want to know if xolair will kick in after the second shot? I don't understand why it hasn't helped.

Autoimmune progesterone dermatitis is usually considered an auto-allergic (autoimmune) reaction to endogenous progesterone. Some cases have reported women affected by premature ovarian failure (menopause prior to the age of 40) with synthesis of antiprogesterone antibodies. The age of onset is variable. Autoimmune progesterone dermatitis (APD) is a condition in which the menstrual cycle is associated with a number of skin findings such as urticaria, eczema, angioedema, and others. In affected women, it occurs 3–10 days prior to the onset of menstrual flow, and resolves 2 days into menses.
I have chronic hives (started April of this year), and I've had four of the 300mg shots- very minimal results so far. I've started a low histamine diet this week, wish I knew what was causing the hives, I'm miserable.
I have had have for nine months. It took me two Xolair shots to get rid of the hives. Just took shot #3, and I am starting to feel like I have my life back. Hang in there!
How did you find out systemic yeast!!! I m diabetic and live with yeast
I just started my first shot on July 5th ..... I'm praying to get relief as I have had one episodes of aniphlaxis to the hives now.... but today is now 3 days out and I can't hardly hold foot my tummy hurts so bad... and the headache is almost as bad as a migraine.... I feel like I have the flu!!!
I've been on xolair for about five months now. It didn't kick in for a good three months. But now it's very strong. And I know now that my hives were from a systemic yeast infection. Trying to get that under control. Best wishes
I got my first shot on june 10th and second on july 10th, but still not much change. I'm in 6 weeks and still don't see improvement. My friend, a doctor, tells me it takes up to 10 weeks for xolair to peak, so don't lose hope.
I did get the high dose of 300mg. And still I am waiting for it to work. I'm 3.5 weeks in. I only noticed a slight change at week 2. But not anything close to a miracle Maybe a 10% improvement. I still am in pain and look 4 months pregnant from my GI swelling. And anything can give me hives. I did call the nurse at Xolair in my area and she told me it could be the third shot that brings on the miracle. I was not happy but it did help me to calm down. I'm really fighting depression. I can't eat outside my home. Which means I can't be more than three hours out of the house because it's very painful when I get hungry. Ugh
I'm having the same problem, Stacey. I finally—FINALLY—got my first injection last Friday, April 24, and I'm still waiting for it to start working. It's frustrating because I had to fight so hard to get the stuff to begin with. My next injection will be the higher dose, so I'm really hoping that works better. My insurance only authorized three shots, though, so I really only have two more opportunities for it to start working... After reading so many rave reviews by other people with CIU—how Xolair was the "miracle" they were waiting for, how it completely changed their life and cleared their hives after just one shot—I was so hoping I'd experience the same. My doctor told me that it might not work right away... but I didn't think to ask how long it might take. I'm still hoping the second shot does it... but that's 3 weeks away.
