I am due to have image guided injections for nerve entrapment pain in my neck and shoulders. I have been on xarelto for 8 months. Can I stay off the xarelto for 3 days to have the inj's.? Is it safe to have Botox injections while on Xyralto? Has anyone had any experience with Botox while taking Xyralto? ## Since Xarelto can increase your risk of dangerous bleeding, it is very doubtful if it is safe for you to have such a procedure. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may also include nausea, dizziness, headache, and easy bruising. It would be best to speak to your doctor, because before having procedures like this, you will most likely need to stop taking it for a few days. Hi there, I am a 40 year old woman, recently had cramps in my left calf and shortness of breath. Went to the physician and was hospitalized for blood clots having run from my calf to my lungs. I am on Warfarin, but my doctor recommended Xarelto for the next three months. I have read so many reviews and came across legal cases against the company as there is no antidote. Does anyone have severe sweating while on xarelto. I have to sit by a fan and turn it in and off every few minutes All day and all night. IS this normal? ## Hello, Shari! How are you? I have been taking 20mg of Xarelto for around 1 and a half years after a case of DVT/PE. This is given via a prescription from my GP. I was one of the guinea pigs for this drug and is not sure that my GP is taking me seriously regarding the extreme pain that I experience on a daily basis. The pain and swelling is so bad that I can hardly walk some days. I am convinced that this is due to the Xarelto. My GP is of the opinion that my weight is the culprit and after evaluations at the hospital is saying that I have arthritis. I want to stop this drug but am fearful that they will not. I had a PE two years ago, and was put on Xarelto, once I started my normal everyday things again and felt stronger I would sometimes get light headed and feel what could be anxiety...I stopped taking it for four moths (at a doctors advice) but then they found another clot in my deep vein near the pelvis. Are there any side effects when getting the two together other than a risk of brusing and bleeding? ## I have posted the same question. Did you have botox while taking xyralto? If so how did it go? ## According to the University of Maryland's drug interaction tool, there are no interactions listed between Botox and Xarelto. This is not to say that no interactions exist, but based on their research it seems to me that this is not a concern. However, I would still encourage you to talk with your doctor just to get a second opinion. I'd also imagine that it may be particularly difficult to make proper discernment between each individual drug's possible side effects vs that of an interaction between the two substances...

Hi, i just found out I am pregnant. Should I stop taking Xarelto as I know it is not good for my unborn child or should I continue taking it until I go to the doctors and they will switch me to shots instead of oral meds? ## Hello, Jabri! How are you? Congratulations on the pregnancy. When it comes to pregnancy, you should not make any changes to what you do, or do not take, without your doctor's advice. The FDA says that risk cannot be ruled out with this medication, but taking into consideration the abruptly stopping it could risk both your life, as well as the baby's, please wait, until you consult them, to be safe. I have been on Xeralto for6 months following PE and clots from having a cast on my leg due to a fractured ankle... The cast was promptly taken off obviously with the ankle left to heal with nothing on it..my ankle has still not healed completely and I do have pain in my lower leg and knees some days..how do I know if the pain is from leg muscle not being used for 6 months or the xeralto ## Hello, Maureen! How are you? It is hard to say, it could be due to either, or, perhaps both. The NIH lists both as being possible causes, since Xarelto has been known to cause such issues as a side effect, in some people that take it. However, I have to judge on the pain, so if it is occurring in both legs, rather than just the injured one, then my best guess would be that it is due to the medication....

I have been taking Xarelto for a month now and as soon as i take my pil, my tongue gets pimples and my lips become red. It is quite painful. ## Hello, Adrian! How are you doing? As reported by the FDA, taking too much of this medication could result in your experiencing more intense side effects, which may include headache, nausea and dizziness. It could also increase the risk of experiencing a dangerous bleeding event. You should also make sure to inform your doctor.

I've noticed i have a blotchy rash on my left calf that has the clot. Is that anyway related to the clots or the Xaralto? I also noticed my voice is hoarse,is that a side effect of the medication? ## Hello, Lori! How are you? The rash is a listed side effect, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and easy bruising. However, hoarseness is not, though it does list dry throat and sore throat, which could be causing it. I have been on Xarelto 20 mg.for about a month now and I have noticed my feet, ankles and lower legs swell worse. I do have Lymph edema in lower legs though so I have to consider that as well. I use a Lymph edema pump to keep the swelling down. But my legs have been more sore and painful since I have been on Xarelto. I was on Warfarin for years for blood clot history in my lower left leg. Hello all..Sept 29,2014 I was put in the hospital for having 2 massive clots in my lungs. I was put on the small dose of Xarelto for 21 days taking them twice a day. Now I just started 2 days ago taking 20mg 1 time a day. I havent had any issues except for a pain that is in my left arm. What makes me a little worried is when I went into the hospital it was cause I was short of breath and a pain in my left arm.. On Xarelto since October. 2015. Calves feel firm but soft to touch.feet sometimes feel cold but warm to touch. Weight gain since October. ## Hello, Zoe! How are you? That can happen with medications that cause blood thinning and/or prevent clotting, due to the affect they have on your circulation. at the age of 79 triple bypass at 83 showing a fib on halter monitor . 15 mg xarelto started. Last year (7/14/15), st jude clinical trial pacemaker placed in left ventricle doing well but since bypass (5 years previous) began having memory issue (dx early dementia) and taking nemantine (20 mg bid) and (10 mg qd) Aricept. uses inhaler two puffs (bid) Symbicort (not always compliant w this med) question (finally) quality of life affected w xarelto his primary dr didn't even understand why he was placed on the drug (since a massive amt of seniors are walking around with a fib and just on aspirin therapy. his cardiologist said he needed it. My father started on Xarelto this past week for Afib and within 2 days gradually started developing bilateral thigh, groin and buttock burning/pain progressing to inability to walk 2 additional days later and severe pain. My mother is 90 with AF. Last Sept had blood clots removed from rt leg. She has been on Xarelto for 8 months. She has been complaining of both legs feel ice cold. Her legs are warm to touch.
