Xarelto And Diabetes
UpdatedHave been on Warfarin since 2002 due to DVT left leg. I have Factor5Leidon half value and therefore i am on a very high dose of Warfarin (18mg/pd). I am also a Type2 Diabetic(Insulin Dependent). I would like to change to Xarelto to allow me to use natural remedies etc to help with the Diabetes. Warfarin doesn't lend itself to being mixed with too many other products. Have discussed this with my GP and she is not keen on me changing over. She believes that there has not been adequate testing and trials for Xarelto. There are also no published papers on the effects of Xarelto with Diabetes. I would like to know more about the drug in relation to Diabetes before jumping ship from Warfarin care.

Hello, Shane! How are you?
What your doctor told you is correct, there is nothing out yet, regarding the use of Xarelto in diabetic patients, so it could be risky.
And the natural remedies that you want to use have actually not been proven, either, so they're probably just as risky.
What are you wanting to do to manage your diabetes? Are you current medications not working?
