I take Xanax for 15 years as needed. I am a senior. Not only do 97% of our antibiotics come from China, but other meds mixed into benzodiazepines and other medications are from there as well. Since China has shut down most of their factories, will the USA become short of our meds? I cannot stop taking my Xanax because I’ll have a seizure. We need to rely on our own medications to be made here. I am scared of a shortage more than getting this virus. Hi, I'm Joey. I've been prescribed Xanax for 7 years now, and I've had all kinds. I had yellow, green, white bars ... then my doctor switched my dose down to 1 mg and I've been on those for the last 4 years. I personally prefer the oblong G3721 Alprazolam, they're a lot better than other kinds that I have been dispensed. It just so happens that the only version my pharmacy carries are G3721. I highly recommend them over the typical bar shaped tablets. The colors don't matter, they're all the same, only thing different is the manufacturer. But you guys be careful out there. I've been taking Xanax for a few years now and I've been with my Dr. for 8 years. My Dr. moved in July 2017 and we received a new Nurse Practitioner in late August 2017. I scheduled an appointment with her so I could meet her and go over my history. She completely took me off my Xanax and my Ambien and put me on Klonopin. My daughter whose an RN, told me she did NOT want me taking Klonopin. But I thought I would try it. After only taking 2 doses of it my anxiety was so extreme I really thought I would just explode. I do not understand why xanax is given on a long term basis. Xanax has a rapid onset and does not last long hence the need to have more and more. You now need to see a psychiatrist to get any controlled med prescribed in most states. Psychiatrist can safely monitor and perhaps switch to a longer acting benzo until you can wean off. Benzodiazepine is a dangerous withdrawal if you are not in a hospital and run out of medication. ## Hello Nurse V, Please, you do not need to go to a Psychiatrist although that wouldn't be a bad idea for those who can afford one, many don't take Insurance and charge $500 a visit instead of the $100 at a General Practitioner. Can i mix these too pills at the same time? ## You'd be taking the equivalent of 3 mg of Xanax. That is a high dose so unless you take them like I do, i take 3 --2mg bars a day prescribed legally. So it wouldn't phase me, but if you aren't taking these pills on a everyday basis then you will possibly go to sleep for good. I do want to warn everyone that is taking Benzodiazepines. Xanax, Clonazepam, Klonipin, Ativan, Valium, etc.. THIS IS A PSYCHOTIC DRUG! ONLY TO BE USED FOR 2-4 WEEKS. I was put on them for yrs. I had terrible anxiety... the more anxiety I had, the more the doctor was upping my dose! It was the Clonazepam causing it. I went to a detox, they cold turkey'd me ~ TAPER SLOWLY. Just had a friend return from a Mexican cruise and she filled a Xanax prescription for me while traveling. When I went on different cruise, I filled a script for Pfizer purple 1mg tablets. Question is, they told her these were 1mg yet they are white. My experience tells me the whites are 0.25's. They are football shaped, scored on one side and IFA on the other. There is no dosage on the packing. They are marked Farmapram (Alprazolam) on the package. Does anyone know if these are in fact 1mg? I recently moved to Indiana near Indianapolis. I have taken a daily dose of Xanax for years for help with Tinnitus. It is the only thing I have ever tried that helps it. Now finding it hard to find a new doctor in Indiana that will even prescribe it. If anybody else have this problem please share info.

I've been taking Clonazepam for about 15 years. At first, I was prescribed .25 mg twice a day. Over the years, the doses kept increasing. Now I'm at 2mg. 3x/day. Though I've been taking it as needed, like depending on what I'm doing each day. For the last couple of years, I'd take half a pill in the morning and maybe another later on. But only if I'm not doing anything important. Other days, with social activities, I'd take another dose like 2 mg. or more. And there are other meds I take like Adderall generic, Gabapentin and also in the process of quitting Suboxone; I'm down to 1 mg. about every other day. And Bupropion as well. Doctor is wiening me off Alprazolam. My biggest concern is sleeping. Is there another medicine that is not in the bens. class that will work for sleeping? ## Try Trazadone. There are many other medicines that cause sleepiness. Even OTC medicine and herbal medicine could possibly help you.
