What Medication Is The Closest To Xanax

Doctor is wiening me off Alprazolam. My biggest concern is sleeping. Is there another medicine that is not in the bens. class that will work for sleeping?

Try Trazadone. There are many other medicines that cause sleepiness. Even OTC medicine and herbal medicine could possibly help you. Xanax is not a sleeping pill

Here are just a few options (out of many) that may be worth looking into for a sleep-aid:

1) Ashwagandha root - studies suggest that a dosage of 100-200mg/kg is reported to be similar in potency to 500mcg diazepam in reducing sleep latency & improving sleep quality in mice.
2) Melatonin
3) Valerian root
4) Magnesium

However, it would probably be best to discuss these and other options with your doctor until you're completely off xanax, that way you eliminate any potential risk of drug-herb interactions.

Do you drink coffee or take any stimulants as well?

The only way out (speaking from my own experience and many dr.s 1 IMPORTANT, if u stop could turkey, you will have a seizure.2. if dr weans u off xanax u can do so via dr instructions, by a very slow taper, about .5 mg per month. 3. Ask dr about clonipin also a benzodiazepine but works differently than Xanax, x= (kicks in fast, and ends fast)clonipin if I take at night will help u to sleep and has a long half life, so its supposed to help you the next day. Lastly, look up online, I found many self tapering charts.

There is a drug called Etizolam you can get legally on the clear net, as it's not a prescription drug in the U.S. It's a Theinodiazapine, similar in action to benzos, but shorter-acting. Since you can order and have as much as you want legally, it's not a problem. The best kinds are Etilaam, Etilee, and Etizest. However, don't get the mouth dissolving kind, they suck (I take my Xanax sublingually because they come on stronger and faster that way). Hope this helps
