Xanax Prescription Needed

I need a doctor who will refill my prescription. My new doctor won't and my other dr retired. Help please in Tulsa or surrounding area

Personally, I think if you suffer from anxiety/depression and need a Benzodiazepine class medication (like Xanax), your best bet is usually to see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular medical doctor. They are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and can also help you treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression (for long term relief), as opposed to just temporarily covering up the feelings and emotions with medication.

Thanks for your response. I have been dx with major depression the psychiatrist I went to for 4 years kept me on way too many medications. I was like a zombie. That's why I quit going to him I had also gained 64 pounds from the rx he had me on. As soon as I was able to get off the strong drugs he had me on, I lost weight. Now down to my normal size. Too many psychs just over do it on hard psych meds I don't know why but I've been to 4 different ones and they've all been that way. Thx for the advice

A few months ago my Psychiatrist cut my xanax from 10mg/day to 8mg/day because "DEA" had come out with new guidelines. Immediate cut of 2mg/day immediately put me into withdrawals and I've been dealing with anxiety ever since, even to the point of contemplating suicide. How can a government agency make such an irresponsible decision? Or did my Psych not tell me the truth? BTW, in experimenting w/different pharmacies & their generics, Walmart is worst, Walgreen's next to worst then CSV (too pricey) and Drug Warehouse the best but now extinct. I have found Freeland and Brown on bout 41st & Peoria in Tulsa an excellent pharmacy, great generics and good prices. Excellent customer service.

It is good that your Psychiatrist lowered you daily dose. 10 mg is a lot, and if you really want to feel withdrawal symptoms stop all 10 mg, its brutal. Whatever you do, it might be good to cut down!

Please stay away from any form of Benzodiazepine. There are many trade names, so always ask your pharmacist if its a Benzo. I took it and battled for years to come off it. Its a nightmare and pure hell! This med should not be taken for more than 2 weeks, otherwise you WILL be dependent on it for sure, and coming off is then your lot...

Dr JE Block or ask him what psych dr he uses..its dr. Gilbert something. (Can't remember his last name). Or Dr Melton next to Brookhaven hospital...........

Do you all know the difference in Xanx and Clonepin. I take Clonepin but only .5 mg. They say that is a lot. I can feel it helps calm my body, doesn't make sleepy or anything just a more calm affect. Does anyone take more than that at one time. I take .5 am and pm?

I agree with this and you'd likely have MUCH better luck along with it being better or more accurately written. Psychiatrists will usually write for more pills per month (depending if it's the best diagnosis etc) than a PCP or family physician. And they usually always give the max amount of refills on it too. It's much less stressful and better by far, for you and everyone involved, to go to a Psych if your insurance covers it and if u have a psych issue,(anxiety, deprsssuin, etc.).

Ok this helped my anxiety and haven't had but one panic attack this year forgot to take it. Ok it's called black seed oil tastes and smells like Kerosene but works they also make pill form get it at your local health store

Hello. I'm in Dallas, TX. I'd tell you all the lifeline of traumatic events that are an onset of why I was finally prescribed xanax and I would be writing a novel, but from major childhood trauma leading into a discovery of life long lived depression and anxiety among making poor decisions of who I chose as life partners who were verbally mentally and physically abusive up until the life experience of being brutally beaten causing seriously bad bodily injuries that placed my ex in prison for a few years, I was at one time prescribed xanax and now that i've been used to taking them my insurance ran out and so I know all the ones who think that no one should take xanax have great reasons why. However, I know what works for me and I know the withdrawals from them when I run out are extreme. I then am not only sent straight back into a serious long lasting panic attack... along with the horrifying withdrawals that come on strong alongside making me honestly nearing thoughts of suicide being the only answer to my mental and physical anguish that I suffer terribly... so I believe what works for some may not work well for others. It's an ongoing life controlling battle of mine that is and has made my life a completely difficult task to try to cope with always and it seems I will always suffer from it till I die. I do so so many self-help exercises and practices and still seek knowledge in learning how to cope with this. And so for now I am looking for a doc near me that will take cash and is affordable as well that will prescribe me my meds. ANY LEADS THAT WILL BE BEST AND ACCURATE FOR MY NEEDS? THANK YOU KINDLY.
