A lot of people in the press seem to think benzodiazepines are just addictive drugs that serve no purpose. Some even have the audacity to claim they should be taken off the shelves and that they’re clearly the next “opioid crisis”. I’ve noticed patterns in these claims: no evidence to back them up. Benzos save lives. I don’t know about some of you, but if my benzo were to be taken away; it would ruin my life and quite possibly kill me. I’ve been taking these for over ten years, and I don’t regret it for a second. Xanax XR is definitely my favorite. I take a fairly low dose 1mg twice a day, and my negative thoughts go away. I have social anxiety bad. My daughter passed away at the age of 7 from cancer. 3 months after that my second oldest got a hold of a handgun that my boyfriend left laying around and shot herself in the head. Then after that he told me he was going out of town for work for the weekend and never came back. I have social anxiety. I've been on 0.1 mg. of Xanax for about 2 yrs. and I find that I'ts not doing as good as it used to. I'm trying to take myself off, but this is really difficult. My heart races so fast,nausea, vomiting, I can't even sit down. I get them legally from my mental health doctor. I have severe panic attacks when around people or in stores. I know I have taken more than I should of this month, I received some really bad news about my health and thought they would calm me down. Now I don't have enough to last until my next appt. He has been gone for 6 months. I was doing fine on the medications he gave me.Xanax for panic attacks.It worked. But I had to go see a new pychiatrist and he decided to change all of my medicines!! ALL OF THEM! Several of them have made me deadly sick. I do not know what to do either. I do not like the Dr where I am going. And there does not seem to be anyone else I can go to. That said, have you ever considered coupling it with another medication to see if it helps keep it under control longer? Sertraline and Prozac are both SSRI antidepressants that help with anxiety. Their typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth, as listed by the FDA. It's an option you could discuss with your doctor.

I've been on 2mg xanax BID, somaqQID, and Lortab QID for about 2.5 yrs plus. My tolerence to the xanax is goign up, so that got me interested in the XRs. Also, are there really 3mg BARS? b/c i've had the green bars and it is absolutely confirmed it's 2mg xaniez. ## Yes, there is a Xanax XR 3mg available, since it is an extended release, it is usually only taken once a day. Have you discussed this issue with your doctor? You may need to just try a different medication. ## I've never seen them but have been told that they're 3mg Xanax that look like green triangles
