Xanax Patient Chat Room

Updated

I have been prescribed alprazolam for over 2 years and was wondering if there is a chat room for xanax users or is this forum the most similar to a chat room?

You are welcome to chat on here and ask any questions you may have.

Has anyone else used this medication long-term?

I lost my job and therefore I have no insurance and can not afford my doctor. Does anyone know of a web-based pharmacy where I can fill a prescription for my meds legally over the internet?

No matter how those websites present themselves, most of them are dispensing prescription drugs illegally. In order to make them appear legitimate, they may have you briefly consult with a medical professional by phone who will prescribe the drug to you. However, more often than not this process necessarily circumvents laws regulating these drugs, including laws specific to different states. Law enforcement has been cracking down on these types of pharmacies. The only types of websites who are doing this legally will require a faxed prescription from a doctor who is already treating you as their patient.

I have been using Xanax on and off for at least a decade. When I don't have insurance, I will pay out of pocket to see my psychiatrist if my anxiety becomes unmanageable. The good news is that Xanax (Alprazolam) is very affordable, and paying for med management appointments is not too different from what I've paid towards group insurance and copays, all told.

Yes, I know. However, due to the fact that they are mostly made in Asia, particularly China, the level of quality control we've come to expect isn't there. Therefore, it's a lottery as to the quality. Nevertheless, I understand your point.

I can answer some questions about Xanax and I have some questions of my own, so this chat room would help me as well and I would appreciate that so very much!!!

Yes I've been on this medication daily a for lil over 3 years, but on 3 mg daily for a lil over a year. I've noticed my tolerance is building again :-( in having side effects and my anxiety and all has been bad.

That was 8 years ago Verwon chimed in so as you can see the chat feature has a slight delay. 3 mg is a heavy dose believe it or not, and try not to lead on your Doctor that it might not be working as they are prone to just wean you off of Xanax here in 2018.

Re: Rusty (# 13) Expand Referenced Message

Once we become seniors Doctors are more hesitant to write for Xanax. I have an older Doctor and he is great, these younger Doctors are more prone to give you newer medicines.

You can become very sick if you just stop too, hopefully you have a private practice provider that will help

Re: Ash (# 19) Expand Referenced Message

Yes, I do have a Doctor I've been going to for about 10 years, nice guy. I started my Xanax career at the Hollywood Health Center and Doctor Dennis Dasher. That was in the late 80s. Now I have a nice older Doctor in Arizona. While I can't trade him to you, there is hope. Plus you can always just visit Mexico for less expensive medications, along with any needed Dental or Vision services. You will need a Passport, or Passport I.D. card

Re: Verwon (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Hey so I've never done anything like this. But Someone I am Extremely close too, have been on Xanax for about 5yrs. And for the last 3 or 4 months, it happens about every other 2-3wks, where this person is the kind, fun, compassionate person I've known my whole life. Then a switch is flipped, and they are super cold, hateful, I try to tell them about the difference I'm seeing, but "I'm crazy" and I "just want to make them out to be crazy." I've tried ignoring it, I've tried just pushing through to the good days. But they can be so mean. (never physically) but still it's hard. They have been so forgetful, and and get frustrated when I try to help or correct things. Sometimes it seems like mini black outs.
Im just wondering if the is from the Xanax or could something much bigger be go is on? Thanks for any advice xo

Re: Starlett Moon (# 21) Expand Referenced Message

Xanax does not help your cognitive functions in any way. Continued daily use will take a toll on all long term users. There are studies of Alzheimer and other disorders, especially as we age. Your boyfriend is lucky to have you, but it sounds he is just denying the problem. With continued use, expect to have more problems in the future. Possible inpatient treatment is a thought? Is he getting them from a Doctor? How much does he take?
