Xanax? Gg 52

I'm paranoid when I'm given a new pill that's supposed to be the same as I've taken before. I've been given Xanax from my doctor, the oval ones, and all of a sudden he gave me little white pills which are hard to read. I think they say GG 52 and P or l58. I'm afraid to take them but my anxiety is going crazy and I need to take a 1 or 2 mg but don't know which is which. I'm 65 and need to take this pill as soon as possible.

GG52 is Lorazepam 1mg. Lorazepam and Xanax belongs to the same group of drugs called benzodiazepines. They are almost the same drug. The only difference is that Lorazepam is not as strong as Xanax.It takes 0.5 of lorazepam to equal only 0.25 of Xanax.
Benzodiazepines is addictive. The reason of your doctor changing your drug could be due to a shortage of Xanax or he might be planning to reduce your intake of Benzodiazepines in the long run.

There is nothing listed in the U.S. prescription drug database for a GG 52 that is a Benzodiazepine.

Are you in the U.S.?

Same for anything similar to the other marking.

The Alprazolam tablets with a GG marking should be:

White, bar shaped, with GG 249, this is a 2mg tablet.


White, egg shaped, GG 256 is a .25mgs.
