Xanax Doctors Medicaid Tennessee

I'm looking for a doctor who accepts Medicaid and will prescribe me Xanax & Prozac. I've been on Xanax for several years now and I was seeing a TN doctor. Well that doctor's office told me they no longer accept KY Medicaid, without any notice until I arrived for my appointment. Needless to say I was very upset. I suffer from anxiety and depression both, and I'm having trouble finding a doctor who will continue my medications. I was referred to the mental health center, I saw a psychologist, who set me up with an appointment with a psychiatrist by the name of Dr. Grey. Unfortunately, the earliest they could get me in is January 12th. I've talked to a lot of people about him who have either seen him or knows someone who has and no one has anything good to say about him and that he definitely won't continue my prescriptions. I'm in desperate need of a doctor who will. If anyone knows of a good doctor to see who will continue to write my prescriptions, please let me know asap.

Hello, Loli! How are you?

You might want to try to contact Medicaid to see if they have a listing available of doctors that take it in your area.

Since Xanax is a controlled substance that is frequently abused, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a specialist to have it prescribed, a general practice physician won't be able to prescribe it for you.

Xanax is a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders, it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Prozac is an SSRI antidepressant that may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and weight loss.

Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? That might be the easiest and quickest way to get in with a new doctor.

Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?
