I was prescribed Prozac & Xanax 10 years ago by my psychiatrist for depression & severe panic attacks. He started me on 1mg 3 times a day. Around Dec 2005 he increased my daily dose to 1 mg - 4 times a day. I have been a patient of his now for 10 years where I see him every 3 months. Through the years, there has been a few times were I had to call to reschedule my appointment and a couple of times he had to do the same. PLEASE HELP! For the past 7yrs I've been on 1mg Xanax (3x) per day for anxiety and panic attacks. I take my dosage of Xanax as prescribed by my Dr unless I have a severe panic attack, then I may take an additional (1-2) 1mg xanax when I'm actually having a severe full blown panic attack to stop it. I've been on other Benzos before but Xanax seems to be the only thing that stops the panic attacks when I'm having them. Recently my Dr decided to switch me from 1mg Xanax (3x) per day to 10mg of Valium (2x) per day because he says Valium is "stronger" and has a longer half life than Xanax. Are Xanax tablets chalky and do they have a taste? ## Does xanax taste chalky at all because I got dispensed some bars that say xanax on one side and a 2 on the other side and they look perfect but do not have that bitter taste that I am used to? So if a medicine says Mylan on it, that simply means that they are the manufacturer, and it is not the name of the med. Usually it would say Mylan and then also have some numbers on it. I took the mylan brand 0.5mg xanax for many years from cvs and had no problems. about a year or so ago cvs switched to Greenstone and I Liked them. In fact I think they worked better for me then the mylan brand. Then I called in one of my refills and cvs had switched again to Dava brand. I took as perscribed and started having panic attacks. I didn't understand so I doubled up on my med and they started to work. I need to know what a full yellow Xanax bar weighs. I had 30 yellow bars get wet and become one, I been eating by guessing compared to when I have crushed them. But its not cutting it. I have been having anxiety attacks for years and had mistaken it for severe depression. After having my third child they started to become out of control. I've seen a few doctor's that all seem to want to try a large combination of meds and diagnose me with a number of things... one doctor (that no longer is in this state) prescribed 1mg xanax and I felt as if I could get on my knees and cry out thank you. At one point I had over a few years of spare medicine. I let my supplies dwindle although I knew this day was coming. Well I learned this terrible news yesterday, he's gone at the end of the month, I had an appointment to see him next month.
