Hi I'm Chantelle my GP today prescribed citalopram 10mg for my anxiety/depression, after reading things from other users of this product I'm scared of taking it because the most common cause feeling sick is one of my biggest fears, with actually being sick, and I don't know whether to to take it! :( would I be better taking it before bed so I won't feel any symptoms, thanks

JUST DON'T TAKE IT, IT'S RUINED MY WHOLE LIFE WITH ANHEDONIA, I was happy the day I took it (was still having up and down days) now they are all death wish days of suicidal thoughts, my insomnia caused by this drug has never been repaired in 2.5 years
I felt very sick to my stomach, bad nausea, dry mouth then later water mouth like I was going to get throw up.
Later that day the side affects went away but was not happy with what my doctor suggested when I wanted something more for anxiety. ( instead I received depression/anxiety medicine)
Hi Chantelle,
While I don't have any personal experience with citalopram, I do think it's important to understand that medications can and usually do effect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results, but there are others that it inevitably just doesn't work for no matter how many they take.
Unfortunately when it comes to prescription drugs, the only way to find out is to try it for yourself and decide after a few days to a week or so if this drug is really right for you.
There are also many alternative medications for the conditions that citalopram treats. So if it doesn't work out there's always something else to turn to; whether it's another prescription, an herbal preparation, or other alternative treatment methods, I think it's best to just keep an open mind.
I hope this helps!
