Hello, John! How are you?
It is most likely that you'll experience effects similar to those you had in the past, there is a chance there could be some new issues, but that's very unlikely. Thus, if you think you can deal with them again for a short period of time, then it could be worth trying it, again.
Are there any other questions or concerns?
Hey John,Thanks for posting back.Trying really hard to stick to my meds and that includes the topamax which this is my third day at 25mg.I take it at night along with a small dose of klonopin for anxiety and ambein car for sleep.been having very
strange dreams not sure if related to hips or not ,also just heard about someone having metabolic ketosis and said they had to be put in hospital for this.Have you ever heard of this with this Med and is there a way to prevent this while taking topamax?
This is not a miracle drug for weight loss, you need to be eating healthy and working out ( at least walking briskly 30 minutes a day 5 days a week) to see any kind of weight loss. I have taken Topamax for over 12 years and have had to work out religiously and eat right to manage my weight. What I did notice is that I didn't get as hungry as I used to and I had to remind myself to eat because I didn't feel hungry at meal time. I did lose weight over a few years and maintained it by my healthy lifestyle. This side effect is on a person by person basis, it doesn't effect everyone, you need to keep that in mind. I take this medication because of chronic headaches and migraines, not for weight, that's would be silly. I do have the side effect of forgetting words and names, sometimes I really have to look for even the simplest of words, my family definitely notices. I have to write everything down. You have to look for yourself and with your neurologist to see if the side effects are worth what you are gaining in pain free days, and for me they are. I take 100 mg twice a day. Hope this helps :) C
I am into by second week of taking 2 am and 2 pm. I had Tinnitus starting before taking this med. due to deteriation of the bones in the inner ear. I wear hearing aids. The right ear has about 75 percent loss and is where I experience the high shrill whine.
When I went to 2+2 is when I noticed the increased whine of the noise. Tried white noise 3 nights and 2 of the 3 it helped. 3rd night could not sleep because of the noise. I travel extensively so I cant play around with meds. Just about all of my.meds can cause T. I believe Contrave has added to it. Waiting on a return call from the doctor to see how I should do this. The only good news is I lost 15 lbs. but at what cost. Hopefully the whine will go back to previous level. You should look at your other meds. side effects. Statin drugs taken over longer periods of time are known to cause issues with your hearing.
