Is Elrredin like Premarin? ## I filled rx of elrredin 0.625 in Tijuana and had been taking premarin 1.25. I started taking premarin 2 1/2 yrs ago for insanely horrible night sweats, cold flashes, hot flashes, mood swings etc. I started cutting the pills in 1/2 about 6 months ago and found that to be O.K. most of the time but every few days I went back on the full dosage for 2 or 3 days when I could feel the sweats/flashes coming back on. As I mentioned I bought the Elrredin 0.625 and was promised by the pharmacist it was the same thing. I started taking one pill a day. Hello there, I am 26 years old and I am not sexually active. My menstruation was always irregular. It was either delayed for 2-3 months or when i have my period it usually lasts for 7-8 days and i am a heavy bleeder. However it became normal for the last four years after I had taken pills for 6 months long in the past. Just recently, my period got delayed again for 2 months (may and june 2018). I had my period from april 1st-8th. So i went to see my ob again and she gave me provera 10mg for 10 days and instructed me to take Althea pills once my period started. I can't reach far enough to remove my estring - I can barely touch it but not hook on to remove - any suggestions? ## Did you resolve this issue? I am post menopausal. I was prescribed Estring because intercourse was becoming very painful. I used almost 2 rounds of Estring (3 months + 1.5) Estring really helped rebuild my atrophic vagina. Being intimate is not fine but I have a new problem: a terrible vaginal smell. When i remove the ring, the smell disappears. Interestingly, i didn't have this smell the first 3 months. I know that the smell comes from the ring because when i remove it, the smell disappears. I have been taking Estroven for about six years now. All of a sudden I have cataracts in both eyes. Due to St. John's Wort photosensitive properities they may possibily promote cataracts. Ive been using the estring for about 1.5 years. I'm happy with it as far as relieving itching etc. but lately it is uncomfortable and seems to move around when I move and just doesn't feel good when I walk. Any suggestions. I have a dropped uterus. ## Hello Cherie oh, Really the only advice to give in this situation is to talk about it with your primary care doctor or OBGYN. I'm glad that it relieves your itching but if it has become uncomfortable it could be caused by a physical change or something to do with the ring shifting.
