The dermotologist stated it was internal and since I don't take any other medication he suggested I get off the Estratest. Hives are better but not completely gone. How long does it take to get out of your system? I was on the new generic for about a month before we figured out what it was giving the hives. Thanks.
Updated in EstratestI have PCOS and my periods are regular. My Dr. prescribed me to take CCQ 50 for three months. I am going to be taking them for the second month. Is it good for fertility and conception? If so, how long will it take to help? ## planning for child ## My doctor advised ccq 50 starting on the 3rd day of my period. Should counting to the 13th day for conceiving be started from the first day of my period or the 3rd day of my period?

I took clomid 1tblet each on the 2nd day of my period for 5days and after 12 days of my period my Dr still gave me 10 more tblets 2 each for another 5days. I am confused. Is it right? ## Hello, Tumishe! How are you? i am planning to conceive . my doc has given clomiphene citrate for ovulation .i have got 34 days cycle .. she has also given tab susten on the sixteenth day of ovulation. i heard that if taken before it will suppress ovulation. is it true? ## Hello, Ashu! How are you doing? Good luck getting pregnant! :-) As to suppression ovulation, it depends on the dosage and that usually occurs 10 to 12 days, before your period. If you're starting it on the 16th day, that should be after you've ovulated, unless you've got a strict cycle of 28 days or less. Do you know how long your normal cycle is? ## its 34 days cycle ## Thank you Vermon for your reply. i think my ovulation will be around ninteenth day. so how about this tab susten 100 mg if taken from sixteenth day
I started Evamist in August 2013 and have gained nine pounds since starting estrogen. My doctor days it isn't the evamist but I'm struggling to believe that. I exercise at least 6 days a week - weight training and spinning classes - and am very careful with my diet. I'm exasperated. I can't keep the weight off. Every week another pound heavier lately. Has anyone had a similar experience? ## Hello, Susan! How are you doing? Sorry about the weight gain issue. Yes, Evamist certainly could be what's caused it, any form of estrogen can do that. Estrogens are the reason many women gain weight, when they enter perimenopause and the first phase of menopause. Once they stop ovulating regularly, they have higher amounts of estrogen in their bodies that is being unopposed by pr...
I've been taking medroxy for 4 days and the bleeding hasn't stopped is this normal ? I have 6 days left of pills I've been bleeding on and off for 3 months now, it's been more heavier this past week. The bleeding only started when the doctor put me on birth control and now we can't seem to get it to stop ## Have you stopped taking the birth control? And as to the Medroxyprogesterone, it could take 10 days, or more for it to get the bleeding to stop….and it is only going to work if the bleeding is being caused by a lack of progesterone being produced by your body. You may actually need estrogen, as well, to get it to stop. What type of doctor are you seeing for this issue?
I too have taken estratest in its original formulation for 6 yrs with great results post hysterectomy, in conjunction with a Femring .05. The original medication is no longer available. The generic in half dose or double strength did not work for me, especially in regards to libido. I am now using the Femring in conjunction with a compounded testosterone cream from Koshland in SF at .5 per pump, one pump per day. It has only been a few weeks, but this regime works and I feel as I did using the original estratest. I hope this helps other women who have been affected by this arbitrary pharmaceutical decision with no advance warning to us, other than to pick up your prescription which is no longer the same, be told it's the same, and then have to deal with the agonizing fallout of a ho...

Since it is a hormone, yes, those side effects are quite normal, but they should taper off, once you finish your course of the medication. Have you spoken to your doctor about your concer...
My OB/GYN says this will not cause weight gain and prior to hormone replacement therapy I had developed a bigger stomach w/a pretty sudden gain of 15 pounds. After starting these meds my weight went down and I'm 5 lbs. over my norm but still thin except for my stomach. I hate the fat that has accumulated there and a bit in the pubic region, it is depressing me terribly. HATE my body and nothing, exercise nor diet does a thing (considered underweight by all). What is it and what can I do? ## Hello! How are you? Sorry about the problems that you're having. Weight gain in that area of your body and nowhere else is usually attributable to the hormonal imbalance. It generally occurs when you're ratio of progesterone to estrogen is out of whack, like being low in progesterone and ...

As a gynecologist, I used to prescribe Bellergal S-tabs for vasomotor symptoms of menopause with varying success. Over the years (35+ in practice) I just got out of the habit, and I forgot why. Now I'd like to add it back into my black bag as an alternative therapeutic choice and lo and behold, it seems to be off the market! I've searched for 30 minutes now, and still haven't been able to find the exact dose of belladonna/ergotamine/phenobarbital the S-tabs used to have. Can anyone help? ## Hi, Harry! How are you? There were some FDA crackdowns regarding some of these types of medications that involved unapproved substances, or unapproved dosages. Companies were ordered to remove them from the market, until safety could be proven with testing. The bad thing about that was th...

After bleeding for 6 weeks straight I finally got an answer to what is wrong with me. I was diagnosed with mild PCOS & pre diabetic (more examinations need to be done)...I was told to take medroxy 10mg for 10 days, I was told my bleeding would stop & then about a week after I'd get my period. I have been taking for 5 days and my bleeding did stop but on the 5th day of taking meds (today) I am bleeding & feeling like I'm having a cycle! Is this normal? I still have 5 more pills to take! I feel like my reaction is different than EVERYONE ELSE'S! ## Hello, Tay! How are you? It is a hormone, so while there are certain ways it typically works in the body, there's also a chance that it may do something different in different women. Especially if your hormone levels...
Hi, i am 20 weeks pregnant and my doctor prescribed Dubagest 200 twice daily from 4th week till now. pls tell me till which month does it safe to take this medicine. ## Hello, Shweta! How are you? Congratulations on the pregnancy! Dubagest contains the hormone progesterone, it is vital to a healthy pregnancy and being able to carry the baby to full term, that's why you're doctor has prescribed it. It's often supplemented if a doctor has reason to suspect that a woman may not be producing enough on her own, so he's prescribed it to protect both you and your baby. Thus, you should take it for as long as your doctor has instructed you to do so. Learn more Dubagest details here. Are there any other questions or concerns?
hi im deepthi.. Im using vtamin e capsules .. Daily one capsule for muscle strength. I gave birth to a baby now he is 4 months old. I hav lot of hairfal and my skin texture became so dull.. Please tell me how this vit e capsules help me for hairfal and skin ## Hello, Deepu! How are you? Congratulations on your son! :-) The changes to your hair and skin are normal for having given birth just a few months ago. Its because you build up so much of the hormone progesterone, while you're pregnant, then it suddenly drops off, when you go into labor. In a few more months, as your body recovers and your hormones rebalance, things will start to go back to normal. The vitamin E is good for your skin and it may help a little there, but it won't do anything for the hair loss. As I said, that...
i have been prescribe norethisterone(5mg) for 10 days due to my period delay about 3 and half month... what is actually the suitable dosage that i should take?i am very worried if the doctor prescribe me with the wrong dosage ## Hello, Mary Ann! How are you? What dosage were you expecting to be prescribed? Norethisterone is a synthetic progesterone hormone and when used like this, the intent is to basically replace the amount missing from the body, then have a sudden withdrawal of it, to induce a period.
My GYN prescribed me FLUCONAZOLE USP 150mg and stated "take one immediately and the second in 3 days" this discomfort is unbarable. Could I take the second pill today as this is the second day from the first dose? If not, wat can I do to take away the pain and irritation?! ## Hello, Layla! How are you feeling? What are you taking it for? This medication is used to treat fungal infections, such as a vaginal yeast infection, but they are not painful, just itchy with a cottage cheese like discharge. So, if you're experiencing pain, you need to return to your gynecologist, because there could be something else going on and this may not be the right medication. Learn more Fluconazole details here.
Is there any treatment for stage 4 endometriosis so that I may be capable of getting pregnant? ## What treatment options have you been offered, if any? There are both hormonal and surgical options that have enabled some women to become pregnant and have healthy children. At stage 4, surgery is probably the most viable option to enable you to get pregnant. The tissue would need to be removed.
I am 60 yrs old and have been menopausal 2 yrs. A hysterosonography Aug. 7, 2013 revealed I have hyperplasia (thickened uterus wall). I had 2 days very light spotting in June and I am scheduled for a DNC in mid November. My Dr. prescribed Progesterone to take orally 1 per day. I asked her if I could use Prometrium - the botanical based "natural" alternative to synthetic hormones. She said yes. I just picked up my prescription and it was for Progesterone 200 mg. The pharmacist said Prometrium is just another name for Progesterone and is no longer manufactured? This is not what I have researched and is it true Prometrium is no longer manufactured? I am obese, have a slight thyroid condition for which I take Synthroid and I also take meds for hypertension. I am very reluctant to ta...
