Will turn 55 in a few months and missed my period last month. Went to gyno for yearly checkup, sonogram showed everything ok. Dr. Prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg (for 10 days) so that I can get my period. I don' t understand, for ages when a woman's menstruation stopped it often meant menopause...............I think it's just a ruse for prescribing meds ## Hello, Fina! How are you? Yes, it could artificially induce periods, when you may be menopausal and should no longer be getting them. Even oral contraceptives can do that and, in most cases, doctors have a woman go off of them for a few months, when they reach a certain age, to see if they have periods without them. Hello! I'm 25 and my doctor prescribed this medication for me because I've been having a four week long menstrual cycle. I couldn't wait for the bleeding to stop so I went ahead and took the first pill but after reading the side affects I don't want to continue taking this medication. The thing that's freaking me out is that on the label is says "do not skip doses or discontinue" does anyone know what will happen if I just stop taking it? Will the bleeding get worse? I was on anti biotic for cat bite and now I have itching and burning around the rectum and pee hole. Can I use premarin crème down there? Or can triamcinolone crème be used. also I applied the premarin there and now I don't have to wear pads for incontinence for a few days. Is that good? I don't have to urinate as often. Finally went to the ear after almost 3 weeks of bleeding ..got blood work and UA's done, everything came back ok ..also got an ultrasound and a transvaginal sonogram done everything came back normal...I was put on Medroxyprogesterone to stop my period..I'm on day day 4 and still hasn't stopped its light to med bleeding.....by no means filling up a pad or anything .....I had light cramp today on day 5 but other than that no pain. im scared idk why it hasn't stopped.....my mom said to finish out my 7 days then go to a obgyn .....and the more I read on the internet the more scared I get ....I always read the worst case ..... cancer ect.......anyone else to through this....advice will help. ## Hello, Yessi! when is the best time of day to take fluconazole? I have to take 5 doses of 100mg every other day, I just really wish I knew what to expect after I've taken this med, I hate side effects.. I've taken it before but just 1-pill after taking antibiotics but 5 of them has me worried!! ## Hello, Tracy! How are you? There is no real best time of day, it really just depends on you. If it makes you drowsy, you may want to take it at night, or if it makes you nauseous, you may need to take it after a meal. Hi, I've had abnormal periods since I was a teenager. At age 18 my gynecologist put me on provera/medroxyprogesterone, I've taken it every first 10 days of every month since then, and I am now 35 years old and still on this medicine. My doctor keeps telling me that I need to stay on it, to prevent uterine cancer, it runs in my family and if I don't take this medicine I won't get a period. So I just had a baby two months ago and have been patiently waiting for my period to start and it has yet to come, I'm a mother of two and dnt want any more kids so I'm planning on getting my tubes tied but can't until my cycle starts. I called my doc and he put me on 200 mg of progesterone for a 12 day period to induce my cycle. The "b" is on one side and on the other side is "886" and "1" separated by a score line. Looking at the pill upside down shows the imprint as "1" "988"; which is what you described. Hi, I was taking b long tablets for years for having a cyst in my breast. When it got better, i stopped the medicine. I also lost 20 kgs weight. My periods also became regular. After 3-4 yrs because of my friend's advice i started it again. This month again my periods have been delayed and also my breast pain has started again. Pls let me know if these are side effects of b long tablets? ## My friend is feeding her son since 6 month. does akyma prenatal plus have gelatin, if so what is the source? is there any multi vitamin that does not contain any animal products? thanks ## @latif, Based on my research, Akyma (also known as Amneal) Pharmaceuticals discontinued their prenatal plus tablets some time ago. However I did come across a list of inactive ingredients and apparently it does contain gelatin sourced from porcine, which is pork.
