Withdrawal From Vyvanse Experience (Page 8) (Top voted first)

I have been on Vyvanse for 4 weeks and I am now tapering off. I was going to quit cold turkey , but I wke up this morning and felt like I'd been hit by a truck. It's been a few hours and I still feel like I have a mild case of the flu. Anyway, I started 4 weeks ago and the first 3 days I never felt better in my life. I 'd never been so productive, focused, and organized! By day 7 , I was back to my normal under- acheiving, scrammbled , self. Then my Dr. raised my dose from 30 mg to 50. Well this threw me into severe anxiety. I have been chewing my nails till they bleed. I can't seem to stop. I have a feeling of being completely overwhelmed, my house is trashed and it's driving me nuts, but I have no energy or drive to get up and clean it.....Can anyone else out there relate to this?

This is how i feel exactly. this drug has changed my life around, i still feel fantastic and i get s*** done and have even put in for my supervisor position at work and I'm only 22. it has changed my work ethic to that of superman. granted i have always been a good worker and gotten my job done but now i can organize the entire production floor and help others while doing my own job still. I'm so happy. for the first time in my life i don't forget the simplest of things that i honest to god tried and could not remember. Seriously if it doesn't do this for you, talk to you doctor.

i have no side affects. been taking 40mg for about 6 months. It is my personal opinion and best wisdom and advice that if anyone is over like 60mg, your doctor isn't a very good doctor as dosage over that amount isn't going to help.

I feel sorry for the people who have all the bad stories i've read. Being scatter brained is frustrating but i'd rather be a little behind and forgetful than losing your mind and feeling disconnected. Love to all

I can definitely relate...except I had to get up and keep organizing...I really miss it. I've been off since march...I really miss my being organized and confident.. At first I chewed my fingers bad, but as my body got used to it I stopped

Hey guys. Vyvanse has definitely been a game changer for me. I have been taking thisfor seveseveral years now. The effects have been nothing but positive. When I'm on it. I'm on point. Now right now I just have taken my first dose. After being out of it for a couple months maybe 3. And it's cause of money problems. I experienced a decline in production at work more. Which has not been good. I have a disorder and it's ADD. I hate it. It has some screwed me out of so many chances and opportunities to enhance my life. A lot of people from colleagues friends and family said I was lazy which hurts. I am slow sure. And I also have CP. Anyway I'm not lazy. Just with this wonderful drug and my continued support(cheer leading section)my wonderful family & my doctor Deb Stultz who has become my friend. This drug has been a blessing from God. I know you are thinking here is another superspiritualist who lost his mind. No I'm just keeping it real. But getting back to the point. I have been out for 3 months. Other than getting less productive at work nothing has changed for me except the fact my wife and I have become more intimate. So hope this helps someone or sheds light somewhere thank you & God bless you.

everyone reacts differently. it is not a fair statement to say they are overeacting. it is a class II narcotic. it is METH. educate yourself before you say horrible things about others

And NO doc in the hospitals discontinued this extra-amphetamine in disguise? I can't believe any Psych Resident (let alone an attending) could be so damn stupid!

As a psychiatrist with a PhD in Pharmacology, I agree. That post — #90, way back, but if I have that advice I could close my license to practice — it's incredibly irresponsible and it was posted by a CHILD. Where did she get her MD?

Adderall, I know what you mean by withdrawal from other medications sucking. I am tapering off of my pain medication currently. I was just switched from adderall to vyvanse today only because of its supposed efficiency. I was fine on the adderall aside from crashing when it was time for my next dose. I never had any side effects (insomnia if I take too much) or withdrawal symptoms. It's worth looking into. I however, am now extremely afraid of taking this medication.

5-HTP - I started taking this supplement but couldn't take it with my depression med's, so I stopped those cold turkey (mistake paid for by vertigo for a week) but I didn't experience any darkness/depression. A day later I stopped taking Adderall (no more Vyvanse because I married and no longer qualified for freebies). I feel great!!! I went through two weeks of vertigo (due to cold turkey) but I feel wonderful.

I cry again at movies (one or other pill made less human. BIG PLUS - I stopped taking blood pressure med (side effect of ADD meds). No more sleepiness. libido is coming back.

Dr Oz often writes about 5-HTP. It helps the body produce serotonin which solves so many problems.

Ok listen up, I have been on vyvance 70 mg pills since high school. I am 25 years old I am a foremen for a fence company and I also work at a bar on the weekends as a bouncer. I am also a sponsored Bmx rider between jobs. ive taken this pill to so many extreme levels experimenting with it through the years and it's made me incredible but withdrawal wise I can take it in the morning before work and complete a whole day with it also dragging the effects on till around the night time of the next day. when that next day comes with out taking it I experience muscle aches " weakness of all muscles", way above normal appetite, laziness to a very high level and I'm not a lazy person, tired all the time, I will have depressed thoughts, and un focused. The sad thing is that all of those things won't go away untill I take it again. The thing is that i am a extreme sports athlete, and I practice no less then 6 hours a day usually more and I can't live with out it. If you are fine with your body and mind to the point where there's a chance you don't need to take it "then don't". It's not addicting tho thank god cause when my body gives up when I'm 35 there's gonna be no need for me to take it. I take it because I found out so many things about this drug that can make you superhuman. you just have to know how to mentally apply your self to something. This pill can open up my mind to overcome pain and soreness. I can go as hard as I want untill my whole body starts to Charley horse and lock up, but the next day I can take vyvance with a special vitaman I take and I can go out just as hard as the day before. Vyvance makes me stronger, have more endurance, more awareness, less appetite, non stop energy untill night time " i haven't taken a nap during the day in years", heighten awareness which allows you to notice things you aren't supposed to, i brain storm all day everyday, and I'm always happy all the time. I never look happy tho because I'm always so focused but I am. Vyvance is more then just a drug for classroom studying and focusing. When this pill is given to the right minds it's made for then it can improve more then just focus. Also for anyone who wants a little example of what I'm talking about, I love to play golf. It isn't my main hobby but it is definitely one that I enjoy. Ive never had a lesson i taught my self and I just watched the golf channel and played tiger woods on PlayStation. I lived near a coarse in my teen years so I played with my brothers like once a month, I stopped playing at 19 then a couple of years later I went to the driving range for awhile then I went out to play 18 holes with some buddies from work and I shot a honest 84. Maybe not a impressive score to good players but vyvance is like a cheat code.

You have Over stimulation from Medication and you have addiction to distraction caused by dopamine not a frontal lobe disorder (ADHD). Mid diagnosis and your hurting yourself by taking the medication.

I am trying to quit Vyvance after three days and before having been on adderall (40 mg per day) for four months. I feel foggy but I do feel slightly less anxiety. I am also on Geodon. But one thing I noticed about adderall and vyvance is that they definitely caused me immense anxiety when I was coming down from them.

I too started takin vyvanse and felt terrific the first 3 days then went back to feeling like I did before I took it. It seemed to not help anymore. I decided to stop taking it and am now suffering with withdrawal symptons of extreme weakness, depression, and problems going on with daily life. This is my 4th day of not taking it cold turkey and need to know how long this will last because it is terrifle. I also feel nauses and achey. Will this be over soon or do I need to go back on just to stop the bad feelings?

You want me off,do something,you can't do nothing,I'm not being self righteous,you don't know me,I've been through more hell then you probably ever have.and I don't look down on anyone I was stating my opinion,maybe you heard of that.oh hell not even gonna waste anymore of my time,u don't have a clue.matter sounds you your own issues worry about yourself,its free world I get on here anytime I feel.so go back to dream world.and grow up

I can have friends and colleagues write for a much as I want ANYTIME. We're concerned because it's a dangerous, highly addictive drug and when you've called (mad official time of each DEATH) as many kids as I have (and I'm the Exec Chief of :Psych Services) perhaps the you're entitled to a seat at the table.

Yea hate on the drug due to your experience on it when it said people with your condition shouldn't even be taking it... I've been on it for just over a week and side effects are I'm more irritable loss of appetite and insomnia however when its active its like a superman drug and I see no reason for me to stop unless I find 1 that does the same without the negatives. Too many people are too quick to say somethin is bad and awful with no real knowledge of what they are even talking about. Try taking something you don't have a conditions it expresses should not be mixed with the drug then throw your opinion out there about the terrible drug it is

Seriously you guys are overreacting and building it up making it way way worse in your head. I've been on vyvanse 70mg for 4 years and feel basically no withdrawal effects whatsoever just like I'm not on vyvanse. I am blown away that you guys act so childish just cause you can't get vyvanse for a couple days
