Withdrawal Hydrocodone 10/325 X4 Per Day

I have been taking Hydrocodone 10/325 four times a day now for over 11 years. Actually, when I started it was Morphine 25mg Extended Tabs twice a day plus Hydrocodone 10/660 four times per day but I cut the Morphine out. Then as the law changed it dropped to 10/500 then to 10/325 and that's where I am now. I always take as prescribed but I want off the pills. I took my last pill 60 hours ago and am experiencing a lot of pain due to my chronic pain and I'm sure withdrawal is making it worse as well. I'm just wondering what can I expect moving forward and what if I happen to take a pill just to be able to sleep at night? Will the one pill start me all over with the symptoms?

Typically, it wouldn't, but we are all different, so there is no way to make any promises. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, rebound pain, anxiety, depression, fever, and chills.

Is there a reason you stopped taking opioid pain medication abruptly? I'm titrating off Norco 5/325 taken 4 times a day. I'm on my 2nd week, and it will take a full month to get off them totally. I understand your wanting to get off them, but your doc should help you set up a plan to taper down. There's no need to throw yourself into severe w/d's, as it increases backsliding, as you've seen. My feeling is, your doc prescribed them for you, and he/she should help you get off them in a humane, comfortable way.
