Will Neurontin Give False Positive On Drug Testing (Page 5) (Top voted first)

I will be going back to work and will be testing for illegal drug use. I am on Neurontin due to a medical problem. Will I get a FALSE POSITIVE result on a test for illegal drugs?

Will/Can Gabapentin give a false positive for opiates e.g heroin or other controlled drugs such as benzo's? I'm in the clinic and awaiting admission to inpatient detox to get clean of methadone. I've been waiting a VERY long time for this admission. I have to give 3 urine screens,each 2 weeks apart tested @ the lab and ONLY methadone or its metabolites and diazepam or it's metabolites are allowed to show up positive,ANYTHING else and i'll lose my place,probably for good. I haven't taken anything not even 1 toke of a spliff or even a co-codamol for almost 8 weeks. I have given my 1st sample which as expected came back with just my prescribed meds in there. My next test is 2 days away (Thurs) and I will have been on Gabapentin for about 4 days by then,Am I @ any risk of failing the test? I have stuck to the abstinence I've been told I've got to show evidence of,so technically I should be safe,but after reading some other users' posts I'm kinda worried i'll fail. Can Anyone with medical knowledge or someone with definitive personal experiences of this causing/not causing false positives please help. Thanks in advance

Hi, WE just got the worst call you can imagine. N=Both my hub and I have been clean for over a year and his counselor just called and said he came up positive. He too takes Neurontin and Insulin for Diabetes. he does not take any other drugs, we are very proud of how hard we worked and how happy and better our life is now. We are so excited for Christmas tomorrow and BAM, get this call, he is crying and so upset as he did nothing wrong and could lose his take homes too. This is horrible, anyone know of what could cause this on the stick test? We are shocked and very upset. TY all for help.
