I just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. The pharmacist said that Watson changed the color but the pill is the same, does anyone know if this is accurate?
I have to agree I have been taking the yellow since 2006 and I just got a a refill of the whites (they tried to give them to me several years ago) and I went to my local pharmacist and he specifically ordered the yellow ones for me cuz I get them every month, now I'm in a different state and I have to go through the process all over again. Not only that but I moved from the East coast to the Western state and my insurance hasn't kicked in yet so I had to pay $125 for the office visit and $179 for my prescription, correct the white ones are not as effective at relieving the pain and it definitely will mess with your stomach and sometimes you'll get a headache. Maybe it's different for different people but I would have to agree with the majority of people on this post they should really do some investigation here and see why they're feeding us garbage.
It's simple, the DEA has lobbyied the drug makers to find a way to stop all the overdoses from people abusing the pills, and they went after the drug instead of the drug pushers, like greedy doctors, that give out rx's like greeting cards. Some have been making a fortune feeding peoples addictions. But, for the feds to insist that the drug makers drop the pain relief in these pills just to curb the addicts, is insane! All it does is drive the pill addicts to the street for stronger pain relief. Thank Your US Government and DEA for that!
You hit it completely right, ripping off people who need these pills for pain only to turn a Blind eye for there Greed for Profit. I hope there is Karma and the Pharmaceutical Companies get there Pain, They Insult all of are intelligence
I don't know how anyone can say the Watson 853 is the same. When my script was filled, I thought the pharmacist gave me the incorrect dosage. The new script did not even come close to relieving the pain. I have been on pain relievers for several years, and could definitely tell there was something wrong with this med.
I am having to take ibuprofen along with the script just so I can function. I'm not supposed to take ibuprofen due to stomach issues, but can't take the pain either.
Here's the scoop. Norco is the real name for the drug, for which it was 1st intended. After the lost of Patan, generics were allowed for this particular drug. Another thing was other pharmaceutical companies where allowed "their versions " Nevertheless, sometimes Doctors only want the brand name to be prescribed because they are better, therefore, pharmaceutical companies who make up their own "Norco " type pill, which have the same active ingredients, but not all the exact same "other" ingredients. Thats when Doctor's make the decision to write BRAND NAME on the prescriptions, instead of "generic" Many Doctors believe that THERE is a DIFFERENCE in their prescribing methods. Now that you heard this, Google it.
Me too but having a 2 bad month been taking yellow for years white sometimes when no yellow available.but for some reason last month yellow were really strong so i switched to white. Now its seems like they worked for first couple days now whites are not helping pain.do i tell my doctor i hate when they mess with this.i never had problem till now they are doing something different.if my pain wasnt so bad i would take this its horrible i been on them seven years.its getting worse if i dont figure something out norco are not working..anymore what do i do can i give to doctors to disposed and get another prescription or do I have to be stuck for 30 days with nothing no pain relief cause the laws am.
Yes, the guy must work for Big Pharma - The only people that think the new white Norco are as good as the standard yellow one's are either selling these new ones, or are new to taking Norco. Anyone that has spent any amount of time taking Norco can instantly tell the differece. The yellow ones work well, the white ones not at all, or very little.
Wow 'Truthistruth' or whatever your "name" is! How dare you judge these people by saying it must be "in their head. My guess ...you work for Watson?!
Charley,
If you do a refill, call around town and ask if they have the yellow Norco. Most won't but a few still carry it. I get it every month, but there's only one place left here that has them. The white ones are garbage. When I can no longer get the yellow, I'll have my doctor put me on some other pain med.
The whites make me dizzy and give me a headache. The yellow do not. Explain that! Something very fishy going on with these.
Hey there Truthis the Truth or whatever, Ya know the truth can be tricky at times. Some folks, while actually believing in their heart they are being honest, are actually not. It's a strange thing, and I've seen it before. Some people actually have the ability to BELIEVE what they're saying and simply cannot for a second understand why others would doubt them. Like Charlie Manson thought he had the THE TRUTH, or Jim Jones and his disciples, that all killed themselves thinking old Jim was right, and was very honest. The real truth of these pills is this. I don't know if you work for the pharmaceutical manufacturer, or as a low level pharmacy assistant, or perhaps just have stock in the maker of these pills. But, this I know. What you are saying here is simply a lie and not truthful at all. 90% of people that have posted on here are not liars, or somehow delusional or fooling themselves as you are trying hard to imply. Many of us have been taking this drug for many years, and we do know the difference between the yellow and the white. Can all these people be wrong? No
Bulls***! Have you tried both of these? Not just one or two, but really been on the yellow ones for any real length of time? And then, tried the white ones? If you have have, then you know what your saying is a flat out lie. Unless your completely brain dead and have no idea what your taking, or your smoking way too much marijuana every day, then you would easily tell the difference between these. It's NOT just the color! The white ones are about as effective as taking Tylenol for pain. All I can tell you is I have been taking the yellow Norco for about 12 years, and then they came out with the white ones, and it was very, very evident, that there was a huge difference in the two. I still take the yellow Norco. There's only one pharmacy that still has them in my town. The white ones cost the stores alot less. Their profits are way up with the white ones. The pharmacist told me this. The yellow ones cost them more, so the big stores all switched to the cheaper white ones, that are junk. Please get your facts straight before posting ok? They may have the basic same ingredients, but the white ones are sub par. For whatever reason, they are half the strength of the yellow ones. End of story.
E102 Tartrazine (yellow dye No. 5) side effects: Tartrazine is a synthetic yellow azo dye derived from coal tar and has been banned in several countries (Austria, Norway) because of serious side effects such as causing potentially lethal asthma attacks and nettle rash, hives, DNA damage, tumors of the thyroid and ADHD. *It's all subjective information.. How it truly "doesn't work, or does". They are definitely not another drug, just a different color. Supposedly Yellow 5 (same ingredients that's found in Mountain Dew by the way) was removed from the Watsons 853 for cost effectiveness and other reasons, otherwise the formula Remains the Same. I think that this idea that something that is a different Color must be different, is crazy. They came out with green ketchup a long time ago to show that color can affect the way a person perceives the taste of something or even the effectiveness of it. And Pepsi came out with Crystal Clear Pepsi back in the early '90's, to show that the caramel coloring used in Pepsi is there for aesthetic reasons not for a necessity. They use food coloring in tons of stuff. It makes red things redder and blue things blue and so forth. There is conversations and debates whether the dyes are dangerous in continuous consumption or not. But truthfully I believe it's all in everybody's head. People don't like change and when it comes to their drugs they don't want change. They know in their mind that this particular thing works so they don't want it to be messed with. Even from brand to brand.. inactive ingredients may vary but the active ingredients are the same. That's not to say that quality is equal between all manufacturers of drugs. But essentially People have their preference and that's just the way it is. I'm not disclaiming the idea that there's more behind this story then is revealed but I certainly don't think it's some kind of conspiracy or regulatory control imposed by any particular power. All a person would have to do is have the pill analyzed and the chemical structure is revealed. There's no way they can hide this, is my point.
Chemistry is chemistry man. No narcotic medication in their chemical structure can take away pain in seconds. If you take them orally you may start feeling something within 30 minutes but more likely 45 minutes to an hour. I've had both the yellow and the white Watson's and I honestly can't confirm whether one is different from the other. And I've been on this medication for 15 years.
There tenz fool..hydros pop a bunch od them and be happy
Phil...where did you get the info about how bad it is? Curious, would like to read about it.
They switched the Formula to OXY and I can NOT take Oxy! Could kill me! Took one and got seriously sick and went to Emergency! The WATSON 853 are DANGEROUS! Who do these people think they are to PLAY with our lives? They already play with our lives, but I GUARANTEE the FDA DID NOT APPROVE WATSON 853 under any sort of normal criteria!!! The FDA MERELY BLEW IT THROUGH FOR PROFIT!!!
The dark yellow 'Qualitest" brand have always been the best. Generics can be 80% less or 20-25% more, meaning stronger or weaker. Only name brand will be constant. Walmart carries the dark yellow, just the hardness when breaking in half could say a lot. Harder=less fillers, more of the medication. An 80% would be more like a 7.5/325,best answer I can give with my information.
Gary,
My sympathies to you for the problems your sons are having. I have been taking Noco 10/325 for about 12 years and yes, they are addictive as hell. But, it's up to us, the user to moderate the usage. I quit booze 15 years ago because it was killing me, same with all street drugs. So, it can be done. Get them into rehab and off the "meds". The pain relief is gone for them and only a life of loss lies ahead. God Bless-feel free to write me-
